it's strange having my current Favorite Thing also be the big Popular Thing at the time. so there's always new stuff and people talking about it. the last time that happened was with dungeon meshi when it was airing. otherwise everything i latch onto is some shit that nobody gives a fuck about that including the creator who hasn't touched it in like 10 years

i really like the magic system in wha. you actually have to know shit and be good at problem-solving and cause-effect rather that just copying spells exactly, and (hypothetically) anyone could do it given the right tools. as compared to like harry potter where it's like "i was born the correct race and i know how to repeat words and therefore i could kill anyone with my little wooden stick"
