So excited the Comeback is Coming Back. One of my favorite shows ever. Here's a Valerie Cherish from a few years back.

I've been rewatching SGC2C episodes since George Lowe's passing and he makes me laugh so, so hard. I'm the most casual Phish phan possible but this mashup (phashup?) just sort of happened. Co-dedicating to Harris Wittels.

Last week I started playing with an old reel-to-reel dug out of my mother-in-law's storage. Likely school property at one point, it included a reel which students had been using to recite little essays, then on another track someone was putting together a mixtape of the *hottest* funk and soul of the mid-70s. In what now feels like a strange cosmic omen, the first song I landed on was "The Black Five" by the great Roy Ayers, who passed away a couple days later.

Please also note that in 2020 he released a calypso protest song calling Donald Trump an "unhinged scoundrel" who was "gonna kill us all." What I'm saying is, David Johansen rules.

Anyway, Gene Hackman was the greatest ever and I love him.

RIP to the forever underrated master filmmaker George Armitage. He's in that rarefied air with Elaine May of people with a supernatural sense for writing and directing comedy in their own unique (and superior) way. Here's a Miami Blues drawing from a couple years back.
