First off, no, Sasuke and Naruto don’t reincarnate together. The pattern of soul of Indra and Ashura do, seeing as they’re the ones that are stated to start the chain. To say it is Naruto and Sasuke reincarnate misses the point, and also would imply that Sasuke is Madara who is Indra, which is plainly not true. Whenever they do reincarnate, in as much as it seems to work in the Naruto universe, IF they do again, they will be entirely different people when it happens.

Implying their marriages and families somehow don’t add up to much because eventually, they’ll die and become entirely different people is a nonsensical statement, as pointless as if they didn’t reincarnate at all. It should be noted, as well, that Hashirama is independent of Naruto, and Madara is independent of Sasuke, and both their souls were in the Pure Land and called back, meaning actually, they’ll spend (presumably) eternity with their families (and friends, and each other) in the Pure Land after death.

And to call it Sasuke and Naruto’s bond again, misses the point, because if this is the argument you want to make, it’s not their bond at all. It’s the bond between Indra and Ashura, two brothers. That is the bond that surpassed lifetimes. If you want to call this being soulmates, you cannot say they are ‘soulmates in all respects.’ Because they’re certainly not soulmates in a romantic sense. Like, this is not an argument for SasuNaruSasu. This isn’t even really an argument at all. It’s just silliness.

Maybe the pattern of souls will continue on. Maybe not, but whoever comes after, won’t be Naruto and Sasuke. Your argument amounts to ‘haha, well, one day, your OTP will DIE.’ Which is like, ok, cool, but they spend a lifetime together so what is your point? They’re in love, they have families and so on, and then they’ll pass into the Pure Land and the cycle may or may not continue but nothing will change that SNS, as a ship never happened, and by this standard never will.

Ashura and Indra are reincarnated into Madara and Hashirama. It is said in canon that the soul of Ashura and his chakra rests in Naruto and same goes for Sasuke.

So technically, they are the same essence through out time. They do reincarnate in cycles together…. That is also canon.

They are ying and yang and Indra himself declared he would come back again and again to seek his ninja way and Ashura declared he would follow suit.

- Soulmate by definition can be romantic or friendship and to say that they are soulmates in all senses doesn’t mean it has to be both, it still encompasses the meaning of the word.

- Canon or not, my point remains pure. Sasuke and Naruto are by definition, soul mates - they work flawlessly together and are ideally matched. Whether as friends or as a romance.

Ashura and Indra are reincarnated, ok, glad you confirmed that is the metric you’re using. So, riddle me this: if Indra is reincarnated into Madara and Sasuke, how can both Madara and Sasuke (who should, by this logic, have the same soul) exist at the same time? Likewise for Hashirama and Naruto? Clearly, there must be some other meaning here. Further, are you arguing then that Indra, Madara, and Sasuke are all technically the same person, and likewise with the other set, because again, if so, then you’re not talking about SNS at all, you’re talking about Indra and Ashura, who start the chain.

There is nothing technical about. The only two options, logically, are it is Ashura and Indra, two brothers, all the way down, OR it’s new people with the same pattern of chakra slash soul, in which case it’ll not be Naruto and Sasuke the next time around. Either way, it’s not Naruto and Sasuke reincarnating.

Further, that is not a rational statement. If soulmate CAN mean multiple things, for them to be soulmates in all senses, it HAS to encompass all meanings, which you confirm while contradicting yourself. You say it doesn’t have to mean both, but it does actually encompass all. I don’t think that was your intended meaning, but it is the result. For example, if I state that something is dark, I could mean that it involves subject matter that is heavy and gruesome, or I could mean it is actually lacking in vibrant lighting. If I say it is ‘dark in all senses,’ than I am by logic saying it is both of those things.

Also, I’d say it’s debatable what is the strongest bond. It’s arguable that the Naruto and Sasuke one became the most prominent, but that is not an argument that it is, absolutely, the strongest, or for that matter the most well developed or logical. This is, of course, largely irrelevant and mostly subjective, quite unlike the other materials at hand.

Your point does not ‘remain pure,’ because I’ve shown its errors, which you don’t want to address. They are by a very broad definition soul mates, maybe, but the usage that it tends to be seems to be them being soul mates as a knock to their other relationships, as if somehow that should have any bearing on them, when in reality their being reincarnated brothers just… doesn’t. Yet it’s presented as some sort of knock against their marriages and families?

Further, no, actually, Naruto and Sasuke don’t work together flawlessly. They actually had issues working together at all, they learned to work together flawlessly, and later Sasuke’s doujutsu allowed him to just predict and sync up with Naruto by modulating his actions to match his, but this talent would be useful with anyone, not just Naruto. Likewise, Naruto’s ability to combine jutsu and chakra was demonstrated not with Sasuke first, but with Yamato, and later he grew to share it with absolutely everyone. 

In short, one might be able to argue that the INTENT was this, but that’s a stretch. What we’re shown, actually, is not somehow these two as perfect, flawless matches, because Indra and Ashura weren’t that, and neither where Madara and Hashirama. 

Further, it’s not ‘as friends or romance,’ anyway. Even if it was flawlessly, it would be just ‘as friends,’ because that’s what we’re shown, over and over. Not romance.

Your attempt to assert somehow I ‘live vicariously’ through ‘ineptly made canonical endings’ sound far more bitter than what you’re accusing me of being. I’d broaden this to ask why you call it ‘ineptly made,’ but I can predict what you’re going to say because I’ve been rebutting the arguments made for two years now (everyone has to have a hobby. :P) I’ve yet to see anything new under the sun in this argument for over a year now.

I see a lot of accusations that folks overplay Hinata’s importance but frankly I think a lot of SasuNaruSasu fans do that far more with Sasuke. Sasuke is a key character, but he’s still a supporting character.
