you have been knowing someone, knowing them well, you don't see them for about a day—practically no time at all—the next time you see the them they're different, you still know it's clearly them, but they changed, grown phenomenally, in a way that would take years and years of maturing..... you ask them about it and they have this long thousand yard stare to their expression and they begin to say how they've told you countless times what's been going on, but you would never remember, no one would, but now things are different, solid once again. you still have no idea what they're talking about and they finally tell you....... they were reliving the same day for 10 years...... but there's a gentleness in their eyes when they speak of how apt you were to understand them each time, they knew they were changing, but you were always the same—you had to be, for you it was yesterday, for them is was a lifetime..
