I think fuuta's writing is good and interesting and people need to remember that milgram as a whole is extremely subjective. cracks knuckles here we go
Ok so. fuuta's t3 was a whole lot. if you've just read the vd OR just watched the mv you are Not Getting The Full Story. I'll preface this by saying it's fine or whatever if you don't like what i'm saying, or you have a different view on fuuta but this is MY POST. I GET TO WRITE WHAT I WANT. DO NOT INSULT ME OR MAKE PERSONAL COMMENTS. JUST BLOCK ME. MAKE YOUR OWN FUUTA HATE POST
right I'll actually start now. so for the record, i've read the ts for the vd before i watched the mv, and my view point is probably influenced by that, along with my own personal feelings regarding how the mvs show the prisoners in the first place. I went into this fully expecting fuuta to be experiencing some form of psychosis, religious or otherwise, and the vd genuinely surprised me. imo, what he's experiencing aligns more with a(n unhealthy) coping mech than anything else. i've seen this kinda behaviour irl in people i know / knew; they've done some seriously bad things (stalking, attempted murder, ect) and the only way they could move past it / not kill themselves was a level of (religious or otherwise) atonement. time to whip out the ole reminder of my belief system (dumbed down) "Just cause youve done something bad, yes even truly horrendus, doesn't mean you should be killed". If you want to argue with me on this please remember that i am a person too, don't call me slurs or anything in that vein pls n thank you <3 respect me ill respect you ect
now on to my analysis of the vd / mv. this will be pretty rudimentry, i am not a psycologist im just mentally ill and frustrated (i didn't get past the interviews on a job i wanted)
1. Fuuta knows and acknowledges that he was / is totally in the wrong. he hadn't tried to sugarcoat his crime, nor has he tried to excuse it.
This point is honestly the most important for me. if we're judging based on would they commit their crime again, fuuta is a solid no. he wouldn't. that's pretty clear in the vd. in terms of what we know of the other prisoners, this is pretty rare. he knows what he's done, he's reflected, he's been punished (kotoko + guilty verdict), and he's actively wanting to repent / atone / make amends as best as possible. I can't comment on the upcoming vds / mvs but yknow. i don't think we'll be seeing much of that (..hitting all the boxes, anyway)
2. the mvs are subjective. it is from the prisoner's minds, how they view their own crime.
He literally sees himself as a comic book villan. Literally. i'm not exaggerating. at the end of the mv, we see a comic book with fuuta looking cartoonishly evil on the cover. the mv is stylized as a comic, with the screentones to match. from what i rememeber, the screentones only lessen / disappear at the end, when 1. he looks as if he's lost himself in (amane's) ruined imaginary world and 2. he appears visibly distressed. yes, milgram and what he's experienced within it has shaped his new views and caused him to reflect, but that doesn't diminish the change he's experienced.
3. Fuuta is as about as clear-headed as possible, considering the situation he's in (milgram as a whole)
Let me be clear -- this is a major thing. he's speaking (relatively) clearly, he's not acting erraticaly, and he knows where he is and what led up to it (sans milgram magic) Yes, he now has a different view point regarding his crime, but if anything he seems more grounded than even his t1, let alone his t2.
4. Toxic online circles are toxic (shocker!)
If you've ever experienced any kind of online community, you'll know full well people turn on each other quickly. this is magnified in extreme communities such as incels, radfems, nazis, ect. any group that needs to put others down, often with extreme ideology, is ridiculously, notoriously difficult to leave. adding the stigma that comes with formerly being part of one of those communities, and you find people not wanting to leave their nice (sarcasm) little hateful bubble. I am NOT saying "he didn't know any better", or anything along those lines. He almost definitely did, especially with his own admittance of his wrongdoings. Fuuta here has been quickly, violently shown just how wrong he was, and more importantly (imo) he no longer has contact with those circles. if he did, i have no doubt he might've doubled down, or gotten worse. However, this is Milgram. The magic prison with psychological torture for fun, and no internet. he's come face to face with his bad decisions, and, through amane (to some extent) has been treated with a level of compassion, and the space to change.
tldr: vote however you want. I'll be voting all prisoners inno (check my pinned!) but honestly. whatever this is an online music project it's not that serious (no death threats please ❤️)
