Finished Life is Strange: Double Exposure! I think it’s not bad like people made it out to be (the opinions I saw online, at least), but it’s 100% a weaker game than the original. And True Colors imo, but I’m a True Colors fan where I know a lot of people aren’t, so… (and I still haven’t played 2 😔)
Still, I enjoyed it! I think the whole premise works better if you picked bay over bae, which I did. I do think a lot of characters got off with pretty much no consequences for their actions, which was kind of frustrating, and some of them were weirdly hard on Max for things that really weren’t her fault 🤨 eh you can’t win them all
Overall a solid 7/10 for me 🤷🏼♀️ not the best but definitely not bad

saw a post where someone said they didn’t like the karaoke scene added to PHM because it felt like there was romantic tension between Grace and Stratt, which like. I guess I must be on a whole other level of platonicism than them. they wish it were platonic but to me it WAS platonic
Like I just took the looks between them as like shared moments of humanity? moments of connection that then made what inevitably happened hurt even more! it felt 0% romantic to me but idk maybe that’s just me lol
(same person also didn’t like that they had to cut the Antarctica and Sahara bits, which is a whole different thing but as a climate scientist those were already the most unrealistic parts to me lol. Personally did not mind them being cut one bit)

Actually incredible that the book I finished today has a strong message about endless economic growth being unsustainable, sacrificing the many for the benefit of the few on top, and also that aggressive individualism and this idea that you never owe anyone anything will be our downfall
but most importantly it’s about a middle school girl who helps a cat save library books, so she’s like “okay I didn’t understand that whole message but I’ll keep being nice to people 😊”

getting your friends to read your favorite book and some of them being kinda meh about it is mildly disappointing, but then I remember I already rated one of their choices lower than they’re rating mine when I read it last year so it all evens out lol
