The supermarket is a temple to unnatural abundance. The stock boys, it's acolytes, with aprons for vestments. A pattern: they rotate the soup cans not based on expiry, but some seasonal (lunar?) cycle I have yet to decipher. Today, the cream of mushroom (an anchor flavor) moved to the bottom shelf. A demotion. I bought six cans as an offering of stability. My pantry is now a bulwark.
