FEEL(Kendrick Lamar Remix).wav
wanted to share a recent song from the vault of unreleased things. if it doesn’t work, let me know and i’ll figure it out. it’s not perfect in terms of mixing but i’m content with it. this one was an interesting one because this song took me the longest to write. it’s lyrics span across 3, maybe 4 years i tweaked it a little to fit present times, but the actual writing has spanned all these years. over time, i added and deleted, often feeling stuck. but that gives way to the cool thing abt this song: in a way, it’s an evolution of myself captured in audio. it’s cool to think abt. it may not be as obvious for others to notice the subtle changes or tell when i took breaks and came back later with different thoughts etc., but i can see it, hear it, and i like that abt this song.
also, there’s a nod to the extended version of 12/12/02. one of the last lines heard in the end is “the dragon i created pillaged a village i made, and now i’m chasing it down to kill it today.”
and in 12/12, i say “if you gotta fight a dragon you created, chase it back to its den/ keep it from your village, they like to pillage”
with that in mind, i’d like to say to always refer to your own word. word is bond, word is life. set standards, rules, and boundaries for yourself, affirm yourself, and hold yourself accountable to the words you’ve spoken for each (always refer to your own word). but to do that, you’ll need discipline. not punishment, not shame, but discipline. the kind that reminds you: i said i would protect my peace. i said i wouldn’t let the world turn me bitter. so i won’t. discipline is what lets you return to your softness without apology. it’s what keeps your hands open instead of clenched. and it’s how you make your word mean something. not just once, but every time you speak it.
didn’t mean to turn this into a lecture of sorts, sowwy😭i just love you, i want you to take care of yourself and be okei🫂
