i understand the doylist reason why bashir and garak were separated for the majority of the later seasons of ds9, but i am very curious to know how people headcanon the distance between them and how bashir seems to be very lonely but unable to go to garak for friendship. i imagine the stress of their duties in the war is weighing on them heavily. i want the TEA. why does julian still have time to larp in the holosuite with miles but his lunches with garak have ceased… why are they avoiding each other.
