he doesn’t mind the snappy comeback– if anything, it just secures his FOCUS. always amusing to witness simple cogs attempting to carry themselves like they MATTER, like they have any impact upon this world. as far as cell was concerned, the girl’s importance started and ended with his own attention span. 

❛ i’m a BIOANDROID. something far more complex and intricate than a crude machine. ❜ he places a hand on his chest, the sharp corner of his smirk rises even higher. ❛ and yes, there is a club. but, you see, i thought it was CLOSED MEMBERSHIP ONLY, given doctor gero’s tragic yet completely predictable demise. so you understand where my interest is coming from, yes? ❜

      “Feisty? Of course not.”

Her lips pursed together into a thin line at the mention of Gero’s name. Marron had no interest in the scientist — held even less after she had left his grasp. She didn’t care for his current state, though she would prefer him far away from her if possible. 

it’s a familiar sense of ARTIFICIALITY. something extra, something that should not be there but has been added to what would have been otherwise ordinary ( and thus boring ). he recognizes the signs linking them together and feels a faint memory of a TASTE on his tongue ( eighteen? ).

❛ you’re an android. ❜ he doesn’t ask, he states. his tone is kept neutral, despite the mounting curiosity. ❛ but i do not know you. ❜ 

      “Want a prize?”

Her comment came before she realized it, and Marron realized too late that she probably shouldn’t be talking in such a way to someone so menacing. She’d blame her recent lack of filter, though the blond could only guess that this being wouldn’t necessarily care for the why’s and how’s.

                 the last thing he’s expecting is to turn the light to the living room and find her on the sofa. it was pretty early, wasn’t it ? normally he was the only one up at this hour, heading out for a secret training session or a jog around the neighborhood or— but that’s besides the point. she was camped out of the couch and it nearly gave him a heart attack. 

                                    ❝ —could you at least make a noise next time ? geez…. ❞

      “Sorry.”

It hadn’t been intentional, but Marron supposed that she should have thought to make her presence known. Typically her father wouldn’t have to worry about being caught off guard so early in the morning, but sleep had alluded her and as a result... well, there she was.

“Well, she’s prone to explode and all that. But enough about me, how’s it been on your side of the situation?”

“ Everything my dear! Anything and everything there ever was, is, or will be!”

He let a soft chuckle escape his wicked lips. “ And what is it you desire, hmmm? To crawl and slither amongst the ever lame and despot creatures of the world? Perhaps you have yet to even discover your true calling?”

      “Mm.”

Marron could only stare. ‘Everything’ felt very vague for an answer, but it also encompassed any answer that could be offered. Everything. Such an easy answer, but as the question was turned back on her... no, she didn’t know.

“Well, school and all that prepared me. Not to mention my mom. It’s done some wonders in helping not to explode when some dumbass hands me another stack of papers when I’ve just finished one.”

She frowns slightly at the still flat tone, but answers, “I’ve been fine as well. There’s work and all that. Been slightly stressed as well, but that’s waned off.”

“Can’t someone check up on their friend? It’s been some time since I came by to see you, Marron.”
