She was accused this Deviantart post by one of her former friends.

The easiest part of this to go over is the proshipping part. Both her and I are very much ship and let ship kinds of people. Yes she used to ship fontcest, she doesn't anymore but it's the least huge deal on here. I'm also certain fictional incest is not why her or my family members sexually abused us as kids.

Now for the real bulk of this: yes she did talk to Max when he was 12, almost 13 right after she had turned 19. She approached him because she admired his art and wanted to learn from him, not because he was a minor. They did start exchanging pornographic drawings at least as soon as the month after they started talking, when he mentioned his age. She reacted with amazement at how he could draw those things so well at his age (I had initially thought that this reaction was horror but after extensive conversations with Jelly learned that wasn't the case) but didn't immediately feel that it was wrong because she was also seeking the same content when she was the same age and may not have been thinking about her own age at the time. She wasn't sending him to go fetch and draw her porn to masturbate to. Speaking of which the link to the proof of her teaching him how to masturbate has been broken this whole time so I cannot verify that one but Jelly doesn't remember doing anything like that. Role playing that kind of stuff together probably wasn't a good idea on her end either but again she wasn't thinking about his age much especially not in relation to hers and what that all looked like on her. Jelly was doing normal fandom stuff with her only friend at the time. She was only secretive about it because she had to share a phone with her mom for a time and if she saw anything sexual or gay Jelly was going to get abused. Jelly learned that when she'd try to tell her mom that someone in her family was sexually abusing her and her siblings, which her mom would respond to by abusing her further then sweep everything under the rug.

Was any of that good? No, but it was more being a bad influence than grooming. Jelly wasn't doing any of that with the intent of taking advantage of him in any way, she just viewed it as normal friend behavior.

Now the much worse part of this is her toxic behavior and thinking she had any romantic feelings for this kid. Jelly talking about her sexual exploits and failing relationships was just oversharing to her only friend, she again was not thinking of how appropriate it was to tell this to a young teenager. Max also vented to Jelly about his relationships and she'd usually agree with him or tell him what he was going through was wrong, she was NOT trying to isolate him by turning him against all his friends and relationships. Now where Jelly really messed up was thinking she had any feelings for him other than strong platonic love. She had been emotionally neglected by her family as a kid and sabotaged most of her friendships as a result so she didn't know what those feelings were, she had never had any good friendships or familial bonds to teach her. It's also why the relationships she vented to him about failed by the way, she mistook having a genuine connection with a person for romantic attraction. Where she really messed up was saying anything about the weirdo reoccurring dream she kept having about him but she couldn't really control her dreams. That lead to this video of her confessing what she thinks she's feeling because she didn't know how to feel about it and had literally no one else to talk to about it at the time to sort her feelings out. Now it looks to me like she changed her mind about discussing it any deeper and desperately tried to change the subject before Max brought it up again then they both did this thing like they had a thing to say/ask but were too awkward to actually do it until Max asked if she liked him. When she finally said she did she made it clear that she didn't want those feelings if they were romantic ones and she didn't want him to return any feelings. None of the desires she listed were sexual in nature and things people do with their friends usually. That debacle was on November 25th, 2016, only about eight months after they met in April of that year. She was 19 and he was 13

It was at that point that Jelly backed off a bunch and tried to ice him out. Not the best way to handle the situation but she was absolutely toxic back then and she was too afraid of him hurting himself or worse if she just completely cut him off so she figured she'd try to make him hate her. She may have been making vague posts about him at some point I'm not really sure but I DO know that one of the examples given was about the person she is currently dating.

Now the incident that Jelly remembers that resulted in him cutting her off was when he harassed a friend that had commented on a pic that Jelly had posted of herself. One of that friend's partners got mad and messaged Jelly to do something about it.

It's also very telling about how Max treated Jelly at the time. However I was also dating this guy at the time (poly) and he was quite intimidating and would be abusive if he didn't get his way. All that is to say Jelly was likely scared of the guy and this made her be what she felt was a little too harsh on Max and that is when she remembers him blocking her and her trying everything she can to contact him again because she felt bad. This was May 18th, 2018, two years and one month after they met. she was 21 and he was 14.

Past this point its clear that Max KNEW Jelly didn't have any sort of romantic feelings for him as he posted one of many vents regarding Jelly, this time being about unrequited, love the month after this.

Now I guess at some point after this they did speak to each other again. Jelly remembers him asking her to remove an image from a commission sheet she had posted because it contained one of his characters and I think she had also asked him if she wanted the characters they made together back at that time as well. She doesn't remember interacting with him much beyond that.

There WAS communication between Jelly's boyfriend and Max after this time though. These messages were pulled from her boyfriend's recovered Facebook data, they have to be read from the bottom message up.

For those who don't know, because I didn't initially and neither did Jelly's boyfriend, the phrase "mea culpa" is a Latin phrase that is basically an admittance of fault. Not sure why he would make him say that in such a manner. Aside from this Max and Jelly's boyfriend only really talked about Jelly. Max kept accusing Jelly of being a pedophile while begging him not to tell her he told him because it would ruin their friendship, any other conversation was about shows or memes.

Almost a week after Jelly's boyfriend got those messages he got more:

He tried to threaten Jelly's boyfriend with a lawyer that I'm absolutely sure didn't exist because firstly said lawyer would have contacted Jelly's boyfriend themselves and would never have their client to put someone in a group chat to get in contact. This is the last known direct correspondence from Max with either Jelly or her boyfriend, it was on January 12, 2019. Two years and eight months after they met, she was 21 he was 15.

I dug all this up because the vent post was all over the place timeline wise. Some just fully didn't line up, them meeting in April of 2016 and talking for 4 years would mean they would have stopped talking somewhere in 2020 but even by his fiancé @carriioneater 's account the contact stopped in January 2019. Speaking of his fiancé he was helping Max make a document of Jelly's "grooming" that never came to fruition, it seems this was back in 2022 a few years later. This came with a public accusation under any art Max did for/with Jelly on Deviantart and one on Youtube and a post on Tiktok.

To my knowledge this didn't go far and it was a few years before Jelly would be accused again this time by Max's fiancé and who I think is his roommate. It was on a post saying she was taking commissions:

Mind you Jelly didn't even know who these people were because she had long since let go of ever contacting Max again and was just moving on with her life when she got these reblogs. Almost a year later she got a comment under one of her own on a random Tiktok video:

This was sometime early this year and the first of Jelly hearing of Max transitioning and his name changing. She had left him in the past at that point. Shortly after that she got some suspicious messages and "fanart" from someone claiming to have been a fan of both of them:

Firstly that I'm certain that background is not a blurred sunset but a blurred MAP (pedophile) flag and that art looks suspiciously similar to Max's. It's especially suspicious when you look at the age of the user.

For them to have followed Max back when he was pastel-pockii this kid would have had to have been 8 at the time which seems very unlikely to me. That same account sent an ask to Max a couple days later:

Then they deactivated shortly after. Right after this, Max made his vent post.

How Jelly acted back then was stupid but I'm not defending her actions, I'm defending her as a person NOW. What she did back then did not qualify as grooming, she is absolutely NOT a pedophile, and there is no evidence that I have seen that indicates that what she did is a repeating behavior. However what this DOES show is repeated stalking and harrassment by Max's fiancé @carriioneater. Jelly is by no means perfect but she has bettered herself over the years. I have no reason to believe she's lying about anything she's told me. She had even told me about the confession she made WEEKS before Max had posted the video, right down to the voice message part of it.

To conclude this (hopefully) you need to be careful how you use strong words like groomer and pedophile and make sure they're actually grooming someone or an actual pedophile because calling someone that can be life ruining. An accusation like that can jeopardize someone's job and housing. In addition supervise your children on the internet. Max's family should have been there to do SOMETHING about him talking to strangers online and accessing pornographic content.
