Moon Halo over Stone Circle : Have you ever seen a halo around the Moon? This fairly common sight occurs when high thin clouds containing millions of tiny ice crystals cover much of the sky. Each ice crystal acts like a miniature lens. Because most of the crystals have a similar elongated hexagonal shape, light entering one crystal face and exiting through the opposing face refracts 22 degrees, which corresponds to the radius of the Moon Halo. A similar Sun Halo may be visible during the day. Exactly how ice-crystals form in clouds remains under investigation. In the featured image, the ice circle in the sky is mirrored by a stone circle on the ground. Taken just over a month ago in Pontypridd Common, Wales, UK, the central Rocking Stone survives from the last ice age, while the surrounding stones in the circles were placed much more recently â during the 1800s. via NASA

Every Photo From NASAâs Apollo Missions Are Now on Flickr
The Project Apollo Archive uploaded more than 8,400 high-resolution images the astronauts took during NASAâs Apollo Missions of the 1960s and 70s. The collection includes every photo shot with the Hasselblad cameras on the lunar surface, from Earth and lunar orbit, as well as during the journey between the two. All the photos are unprocessed versions of the original scans.

Just in case you forget this exists.
It exists.
With those âwhen you want to design a character but you donât know color theoryâ posts flying around I thought this would be relevant again.
SLAMs THE REBLOG BUTTON
thereâs also Coolors website that gives you randomized palettes!
Donât forget ColourLovers, either! Itâs a social media-esque site where you can browse tons of palettes and share your own.
You can browse the most popular ones or search for certain colors, themes, and even specific hex codes!
When you find one you like, you can download a wallpaper swatch of it and also select the specific colors it uses to look at more palettes that use those same ones.
ColourLovers is my go-to for when Iâm having trouble coming up with a color scheme! Itâs also been around for over a decade, so thereâs plenty to browse through.

color palette meme âŞÂ @ thehighwind â asked : Precious Metals (Gold) + Dorian Pavus
I told Miyazaki I love the âgratuitous motionâ in his films; instead of every movement being dictated by the story, sometimes people will just sit for a moment, or they will sigh, or look in a running stream, or do something extra, not to advance the story but only to give the sense of time and place and who they are. âWe have a word for that in Japanese,â he said. âItâs called ma. Emptiness. Itâs there intentionally.â Is that like the âpillow wordsâ that separate phrases in Japanese poetry? âI donât think itâs like the pillow word.â He clapped his hands three or four times. âThe time in between my clapping is ma. If you just have non-stop action with no breathing space at all, itâs just busyness. But if you take a moment, then the tension building in the film can grow into a wider dimension. If you just have constant tension at 80 degrees all the time you just get numb.
Rogert Ebert, on Hayao Miyazaki (via figureight)
I love this. I think the pause is the most overlooked part of any art- whether itâs visual space, a hold on a phrase of music or dance, space between words and action in scene, or that breath-held beat in a paragraph or line of dialogue.
