Back at it again!

  Hi everyone! This is Fred. He’s an 18 month old Golden Retreiver with a passion for…..you guessed it…. TENNIS BALLS. I came across Fred and his owners one sunny Sunday a few weeks ago while boating on the Isle of Wight Bay in Ocean City. We’d been down to Sinepuxent Bay and saw a herd of ponies ( probably be a blog post on those soon ) and a cool JetSki guy doing tricks ( gosh, hope someone tags him on IG ) and came across Fred and his posse at low tide. The sand bars are a popular place for boaters to hang out at low tide, and also apparently dogs.

Along comes Fred here, with his tennis ball, looking for a new friend. Well I am a sucker for a dog, as anyone who knows me will attest to, and of course I had my gear… so Fred and I made friends and I introduced myself to the crowd that included Fred’s owners.

In between marathon ball fetching episodes, I learned that this whole crew lives in Ocean City and that Fred here, hangs out on the water roughly four days a week with his family.

Fred’s owner, in a valiant attempt to save his arm, has wisely equipped himself with a Chukkit ball launcher, so that Fred has nearly endless opportunities to run and jump.  This wasn’t our normal session, as Fred was ONLY interested in running, jumping, and swimming and chasing the tennis ball,  so we caught what he does best, over and over again!

We had a very energetic time with Fred and I’m certain that he sleeps well every night. I know I did that night.
