We’ve talked to all the local shelters but she’s a difficult foster placement because she gets so anxious around other animals that it comes out as aggression. Breaks my fucking heart because we got her at 12 weeks old and immediately put her in puppy socialization classes, puppy training classes, took her to shops and restaurants and dog parks, had her around Girl Dog and the five older cats until she was a year old and… she couldn’t ignore that anxiety anymore. And my partner raised guide dog puppies and worked in animal welfare, they know how to work with dogs—if it was just the dogs we could have figured that out, but all the stress wasn’t fair to the cats or Other Girl Dog.

It was so hard finding her a new home the last time, both emotionally and logistically. This is… She was alone all last night because her current mom was in the hospital. We’re this close to just picking her up and renting an Air BnB or something, which we can’t afford, but. Fuck. She’s our baby. She used to share my pillow. She’s the cuddliest, sweetest little bean—with people (kids and pets besides dogs/cats unknown).

She’s also a difficult placement because she’s a pitbull mix, and there’s a lot of prejudice against pitties out there. Two and a half years old, already spayed, about 70lbs.
