( ALYCIA DEBNAM CAREY, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER ) ROMY BURKE the 32 year old lives in 601 on FLOOR 6. It is said that they have been here at Ellswick Tower for FIVE YEARS. The MANAGER AT THE CORNER BOOTH is said to be KING HEARTED and JEALOUS which makes sense when you think about how they were a GIRLFRIEND to Devon Carrington, who was just found dead.{ RAE, 28, GMT, SHE/HER. }
triggers: drugs, overdose, car crash, death
For 8 years Romy's older brother grew up an only child and was spoiled rotten by their parents Joel and Tina. Joel being a renowned surgeon and Tina being an attorney, he never heard the word 'no' and that showed more the older he got and the bratty attitude he developed.
At 8 is when he suddenly to share the spotlight because Romy was born. It felt like many years she was attempting to get the bond and connection she aways wanted, she wanted her brother to like her but he just didn't feel like it would ever be a thing.
When he hit his teens she felt like she was an annoying little sister to him, he wanted privacy with his friends or girlfriends and she was the sibling that always busted into the room to hang out.
When she was 13 years old her brother became her primary care taker at 21. Their parents both passed after their father overdosed on a drug binge, their mother who was also high at the time got behind the wheel and got into a crash which wrapped the vehicle around a sign wooden power line pole. Everyone at the time were shocked as the two were well off put together people.
Throughout her teens she carried guilt because she felt as though her brothers younger years were now gone, he had to care for her and they already didn't have the greatest relationship.
at 25 she moved out into a cheap, dirty apartment and started saving up as much as she could until she could afford to live comfortably and move out and into the Ellswick Towers at 27.
Romy began to date Devon 2 years ago, they were pretty inseperable but were known to have a lot of fights at times.

"listen, i know that everyone's emotions and tensions are high," savannah spat back out, feeling socially tapped out at the end of the event. perhaps if it would have been earlier in the day, she'd have a bit more of a filter .... but not now. "but yelling at me and accusing me of shit i have nothing to do about isn't going to make you feel any better."
"Actually Savannah I feel so much fucking better after getting that off my chest but thank you for managing my emotions for me." Her tone sarcastic and snarky as she fired right back at the other. "After this all of you get to go back to your homes and move on with your life but not me. I get to go back to my home filled with photos and memories of my dead boyfriend. I get to roll over in my bed and not see him sleeping there anymore. I get to walk into my bathroom and see his spare toothbrush and aftershaves. I get to sit in front of my TV and see framed pictures of us both beside. What I don't get to do is see him or feel him ever again." Her voice straining the longer her speech went on as she tried to fight the lump in her throat.
noah blinked at her accusation, caught somewhere between surprise and exhaustion as his glass paused halfway to his mouth. for a second, he just stared at remy while the room around them seemed to go painfully quiet. then, with a dry exhale through his nose, β yeah, remy. you got me. and here i thought i got away with the perfect crime. β his shoulders sagged slightly as he lowered the glass. β hey. β his voice was quieter now. careful. β you're upset. i get it. but throwing darts at random people isn't gonna bring him back. β
Romy's eyes filled to her waterline as she took a moment to breathe. Noah taking a moment to understand her frustrations, her emotions in the situation was all she really needed right now. Her baseless accusations weren't getting her anywhere, it wasn't getting Devon justice any time sooner either but she was angry. "I-" her bottom lip trembling while she tried to collect herself. "I just really fucking miss him."
emmeline cowered at the other's rebuttle, her eyes widening as she backed off. it was clear the other was hurting and in some capacity, she could understand it but she was painting her out to be selfish... shut up, i'm talking- that was the gist of it and brought up a lot for her. with that said, she opened her mouth but nothing came out for a few seconds and her tears started to flow. shaking her head again, the woman wiped her eyes. "i didn't do anything! you're trying to make me look bad by throwing this out... here! of all places! and i'm the disgusting one?" no, she couldn't take it because if she did, there was no going back. "get help and leave me the fuck alone!"
"I wouldn't need to get some fuckin' help in the first place if it wasn't for you!" Romy's arms flailing around as she yelled at Emmeline. She had no idea if she would regret all of this in the morning but right now it felt like emotions that had been building and building since she found his body that day. "Fuck you! Seriously Fuck you! Fucking fuck you, how could you fucking do this to him! Karma will get you! You paint yourself to be this nice fucking person but I see you for what you really are."
The more Romy stuck to her accusation towards the man, the more irritated he started to become. He had already downed his fair share of alcohol today, maybe even more. He wasn't in the mood, he hadn't been in the mood. "Why I'd do this?" Mateo stepped closer to the woman, "I didn't do anything to him. But what about you, Romy? How much did you really love him?" There was a darkness that laid behind his eyes as he spoke, he wasn't here to comfort. He was hurting, but not in the way she was. "Dead or not, you and Devon were never making it. So, you can drop the whole grieving girlfriend act now."
The more he fought her on this instead of just sitting back and allowing her to throw accusations is way got under her skin. She had no right to be saying the things she had been yet she did and it felt unfair that he argued back, the logistics weren't making sense. She kept it together, even allowed him to make a baseless accusation right back but the moment she told her they weren't making it pushed her over the edge. Without even thinking her hands met his chest as she shoved him with as much force as she could muster up. "Fuck you, Mateo. Fuck you. Don't you ever fucking say that." Her words punctuated with another shove and another and another.

"Romy.. I don't know what you're talking about? I need you to be a little more clearer and stop with the accusations." She knew that Romy was upset and this was a terrible time for her but these were serious accusations and could be life changing if overheard by the wrong person. "I promise I would have never hurt Devon, he was a great guy."
"I'm talking about you and your cousin, I know for whatever reason you killed him. I don't have all the answers but I fuckin' know it was you Esme, I'll figure it out." She was talking out of her ass and throwing around baseless accusations until something sticked. She knew it could possibly get her into trouble too but in this moment she really didn't care. She missed how her life was before all of this, she missed her boyfriend.
"can you shut the fuck up?! right now!" the woman shouted in response to the other. her nerves were shot, there was nothing else, someone was dead and someone was now ghosting her - everything was building up and no one needed this. it felt like she was being pushed. "i didn't fucking kill your boyfriend, what the fuck? certainly not jealous-" that comment had been unnecessary but her blood was boiling. "you're doing this to humiliated me right?" she shook her head as her eyes welled with tears. "like i've not been humiliated enough already..."
"No, you shut the fuck up Emmeline. What you're not understanding is that I am talking right now, not you." Romy was clearly spiralling right now and looking to blame anyone for what had happened to her boyfriend. She had no answers for anything yet, she was in the dark without much communication from the police. "Humiliate you? Not everything is about you, Emmeline. Not everything is to make you look bad. Devon is fucking dead and you know you did it. You never fucking liked him. You are disgusting."
"i've not fucking done anything, no, we didn't get along at first-" she was already trying to overexplain far too much in public. "-but i got on with devon! i didn't so anything! please..." it was as if her nerves were truly shot, that she had found some sort of aggression in her that was fueling her on but was then trying to plead with the other. "i don't even know you! what the fuck?"
Romy's emotions were clearly written on her face. She had moved past any denial or sadness and she was at the angry stage. "Go fuck yourself, Emmeline. Exactly, you didn't get along at first and you played the long game and murdered him. You are a cold blooded killer and you will get what is coming to you." She rolled her eyes at the womans words before returning more words. "You don't know me? I'm his fucking girlfriend."
out of all the things that could have transpired today, emmeline did not think that she'd be accused of doing the very heinous act that had brought them all here together. defence mechanisms were keeping in and her adrenaline took over as her breathing became shallow and her heart started thudding in her ears. "what the fuck did you just say to me?" emmeline raised her voice as she stepped away from the other. "what the fuck is your problem? why would you say that to me? in front of all these people?" the other was emotional but so was she so her de-escalation tactics had gone straight out of the window.
"You're my fucking problem." She had no reason to be saying all of this other than not being able to manage her emotions right now. "Why would you do this? What did he or I ever do to you? He was such a nice, sweet and loving person and you took him from me. Yiou are a fucking murderer and I don't know why you won't admit it."
Esme stood wide eyed for a moment, words failing to leave her mouth because what exactly do you say to something like this? "What? Huh?" She managed to put together. "Why would you think that? I am just.." her sentence starting not to make much sense the more she tried to defend or explain herself. "I have no reason and like.. huh?"

Mateo had a headache. He had already been through the ringer for the day by the time he had reached Romy for an accusation that he wasn't expecting to find and at first, he just kind of stood there looking at her when she yelled it. "Yeah." Words finally slipping out of his mouth, another unexpected thing, but he was tired. "And I'm planning on going after you next." His eyes not leaving hers for even a split second as he spoke. "Don't ever say some dumb shit like that to me again, I don't give a fuck who you think you are, Romy."
"You're joking about it but I know you fuckin' did it, Mateo." Romy furrowed her brows in his dierction, her chest raising and falling as she took deep breaths to calm her emotions. The girl was hurting, she missed her boyfriend and was feeling lost without him being around. It was a situation she never thought she would find herself in. "Why? Why would you do this to me, to him? I fuckin' loved him, Teo."
It felt like it did not matter how many times she wiped the tears that streamed down her cheeks they just kept coming back. She had lost the only person she felt as though she had truly loved. They had their differences, sure they fought at times too like any other couple but she had planned her life out and every plan included him. "It was you wasn't it?" She yelled walking over to the closest person, her accusation having no basis other than her emotions. "You fuckin' killed him."
