so we get this framework for the paper kingdom with a writer/novellist, paper = typewriter paper, ect

and then this reference is made to the pillow man

and that as an allusion to make with their story of the album is VERY interesting, obviously not a one to one adaptation! but more about that idea of writing about something putting you in proximity to it and the idea of blame/guilt and if that work needs to be put out into the world are interesting themes to draw from in this case with the abandoned album being what it is.
