perf example of how uncomfortable boys are with women owning their own awesomeness. for many men, beauty, coolness, desirability are gifts they alone can bestow upon women. they get baffled, even aggressive when you show you’ve known you possess those things all along. 

my dad always used to refer to my mum as “the most beautiful woman in the world” and i always thought that was kind of dumb, because i could look at my mum and know for sure that she was not the most beautiful woman in the world, not even by far and i always thought that my dad was just saying that to be nice.  and then one day i met the most beautiful woman in the world.

if you like me i’ll literally never realize it until you tell me, “I like you” and even then I’m still not sure
