It’s been 7 years today since I was diagnosed with diabetes, while it’s not really a cause for celebration. I wanted to mark this year as the disease recently took me to the ICU...Sadly no cake, just balloons!!! I LOVE THE NHS!!! 😍😍😍 This my friends, is the face of someone whose life was saved due to their knowledgeable and swift action. I contracted food poisoning which showed up on Friday morning, began vomiting blood on Friday night. Which forced my amazing Mum to call an ambulance, which arrived within 5 minutes and the paramedics jumped straight into action! Within minutes they had taken blood sugars and come up with a diagnosis, which was later confirmed by the amazing staff at ST George’s Hospital A&E, who once had stabilised me, transferred me to ICU to a great night team who immediately got to action making a treatment plan and 1-2-1 monitoring me.
