The only time we've seen Eurus admit that she likes someone is when she says Sherlock was her favorite. We might think that she was referring to her favorite brother, but personally I think she meant her favorite person. We know that Eurus felt very lonely even as a child, Sherlock was the closest brother to her age and also the most emotional, something that was good for two reasons: he is less formal and refined like Mycroft and has that quality unknown to Eurus (the emotional intelligence). I imagine Eurus treating Sherlock as her personal experiment, but then grabbing him a bit of affection (if we consider that despite her severe psychosis, Eurus also has feelings very deep hidden). Sherlock was her connection to the world outside her head. He was the only thing in the world she didn't understand and also someone she wanted by her side. Then Victor came and we know what happened. Eurus felt so displaced and more alone than ever. Of course, someone with such a delicate state of mind was not going to react rationally. And several years later she meets her brother again and decides not only to continue her observations about him but also to torture him a little for having abandoned her (or so she saw it). We know that the Holmeses did not meet other children until a certain age due to Mycroft's comment in S03E01, possibly Victor was an isolated exception. So it is highly unlikely that Eurus has met anyone other than her family and the doctors / people who work in Sherrinford. So we cannot assume that there has been someone in her life who could have replaced her "favorite". So when Sherlock decides not to shoot Mycroft and aim the gun at himself, Eurus lost her temper. She never anticipated that Sherlock loved John and Mycroft so much that he decided to kill himself instead of them. Mycroft was not important to her. He did not seem interesting to him when he was young and when he was older he was just the brother who kept her locked up, she did not care if he died. But with Sherlock it was different. She couldn't bear his death, the brother who had become her favorite person in the world. The only one she could say appreciated enough to abandon her experiment and her "scientific rigor" to prevent his suicide. In the end it was just about Sherlock playing with her again, it couldn't be anyone else, not Mycroft, not her parents, not anyone. It must be Sherlock. A cruel and twisted game, but in the end it was a game for her. And finally: the only one who can “wake her up” from that distant place that she has locked herself in her mind is Sherlock. The only person she appreciates. She wanted him to play with her, no matter if it was playing a children game or playing their violins. Of course we know how a bad person she is, but I like to see her human side represented in Sherlock. The side of herself that she never actually understood entirely.

And what happened, then? Well, in London they say - that Mycroft’s small heart grew three sizes that day.
