I'm not a fan of the the way the crows are potrayed. Converging the two plotlines was a not a good idea.

Removing Per Haskell from the equation doesn't seem like a well thought out idea. The way the storylines were set by leigh made sense in the end. And i know since it's an adaptation that there will be changes, but changing Kaz's whole personality like that.

The fact that Kaz would risk the crow club for Inej is outrageous, Kanej relationship is so special because it develops that way in the books. How Kaz comes to rely on Inej and needing her? . But in the show they decided to throw all that away and just make it obvious that he is in love with her. Some of the lines Kaz says are so cheesy that the real Kaz Brekker would have whacked him with his cane. And him outright saying that he needs her, remember this is the same guy who squeezed someone eyeballs out for her but it took him an entire heist and almost drowning to finaly tell Inej his feelings. Also removing Per Haskell has messed up Inej's storyline.

Coming to Kaz's potrayal, i think the overall acting in this show is rather weak (except for ben barnes and kit young and of course Baghra) Freddy carter's potrayal seems awkward at times and sometimes overly theatrical. The casting for Kaz might look good but the delivery is just not up to the mark. And i think the writers are mainly at fault for taking amazingly etched out characters from SOC and mixing them in with Alina. Also the writers have done a bad job of understanding Kaz's character.

If there is a season two, i want the crows storyline to be focused on the heist and the acting needs to be improved sorely. But most importantly the writers need to give the crows their own story and write Kaz better. So that he matches up with his book persona.
