I normally dont post much but I really need some advice. I'm 21 and I have a history of scoliosis with both thoracic and lumbar curvatures and a case of really bad knee pain and in general bad joints. Up until almost a year ago I was totally dependent on a walking stick to be able to walk long distances or for long period of time cause of how painful it was and ive been having knee pain ever since. Got told to lose weight by my doctors because I was overweight and I got diagnosed with hyperextended knees, knocked knees and flat foot.
Just yesterday I had leg day and today by evening I have a swollen knee. I usually go to the gym every evening for some light cardio sessions but ive never had a swollen knee. My dad's a doctor and said that it's fine and that the pain will subside but it hasn't and I have no idea what to do because he has a tendency to ignore my symptoms most of the time. I already took a paracetamol but that thing barely works. Any remedies to reduce the swelling and pain will be appreciated.
science has always been political. what gets studied. what doesnt. who gets to do the studying. on and on and on.

happy oct 3rd everyone
When I saw K2 in Rogue One I absolutely did not think that he almost killed Cassian when he first met him. Do you think Cassian was haunted by K2 as a reminder of the Ghorman massacre when he came back as a rebel droid after getting reprogrammed and that he only found some sort of peace in working with K2 because he thought that this droid is just a means to an end, i.e., spying on the empire by using K2 as a camouflage but eventually he saw K2 more than a droid, as a friend, as family, as part of a rebellion who sacrificed himself for the cause. Cassian and K2's friendship in Rogue One never felt like it was between a human and a droid. Much like the bond between Anakin and R2D2 and C3PO
Thinking about how Mon is trapped in a repeating cycle no matter how she tries to escape the same horrific traditions that led her to where she is.
She tries to protect Leida from those traditions, but her daughter walks right into them. The contrast between Leida crying over Stekan not wanting to hold her hand and Leida telling Mon "I wish you were drunk" is like a slap to the face.
Leida sees the flaws and imperfections but she does not understand what she is getting herself into. She's going through with this because this is what she thinks she wants, but she's never been given another choice. To her, this is both a connection to the home she barely knows and a way to rebel against the mother she despises. She balks when Mon offers her a way out, because of course her own mother tries to stop her happiness.
Mon is watching her daughter go down the same path that she did, and she is unable to stop it. She meant it earlier when she said, "I am so, so sorry". She is sorry for more than just Leida's first fight with Stekan. She is sorry for all of this, for making her daughter a political tool and allowing her into an arranged marriage.
It's a sad parallel when Mon reveals that her mother was drunk when she got married and then Mon downs multiple shots after Leida is married. She has to cope with not only the reality of her fourteen year-old daughter being married, but also that her childhood friend is about to be murdered, and she cannot stop it. She is a powerful Senator, but in this house she is powerless. She understands why her mother was drunk on that day because she too sees no other escape, and so continues the cycle as Mon takes a page from her mother's book and Leida, so keen to be anything but her mother, steps into the same role that her mother was forced into.
It's clear that generations of trauma have impacted the Mothma family. Left unresolved, this spills over into the younger generations, and of course no one talks about it, or to each other. Mon's mother being drunk was likely because she was horrified that her daughter was going through the same thing she did. And now Mon is in the same place.
People repeat and emulate what they know. In this case, the Mothmas repeat this cycle of trauma because it is expected of them, and they've never truly allowed themselves to imagine anything else.
"rebellions are built on hope" coming from a random ghorman bellhop, who cassian met twice is really the most andor/rogue one thing ever. because he is SO random. they all are. every rebel. every member of rogue one. they are just random, ordinary people, who were willing and brave enough to give up everything for even a chance at freedom. and that is so important
Also love the fact that "Rebellions are built on hope" was not something that Cassian came up with. It was something that followed him. Something that he heard and believed in so much so that he passed it on to Jyn. Cassian, the man who had every reason to lose hope on the rebellion lived on to serve the rebellion in countless ways because he still had hope. "Rebellions are built on hope" is not just a dialogue. It's a fact. It's the truth. And it is a perfect reminder for Cassian when everything is going sideways in Rogue One. And it's a reminder for everyone within the rebellion when Jyn reminds them that they must have hope, they must still fight even if the enemy is a death star, a literal planet killer. This one line may have literally saved the rebellion.

STAR WARS PARALLELS:
Andor, 2x08, "Who Are You?" (2025) // Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
love that there was no scene in Thunderbolts where everyone debates saving Bob. there is no question that that man is out of his depth despite creating a crater in a mountain and surviving a hail of bullets. the wettest of wet cat men
I'm a firm believer that the second Soldier Boy sees Misha's character, Dean Winchester will take over the vessel (Jensen Ackles).
I've been listening to this since the last one hour maybe, and the only thing I can think about is how much power music holds on us. It makes you imagine an entire world, emotions that bind that world and give it meaning, so much so that you can't make yourself a separate entity from the experience the music brings to you. Each sway of the sounds of the instrument makes you experience the emotion in different waves. And then I realise just how lucky we are as human beings, to create something as beautiful as music and poetry and imagining different worlds within the worlds created by someone else. What is creativity if not the soul unbound; unleashed in ways the body can comprehend.
