Hello people of Tumblr! (again) I remembered this blog existed, and with me returning to drawing, I decided to revive it again and actually use it as a journal.

if you knew me from 2 years ago and wondering “did you learn to draw?” The answer is sadly no, as i am a lazy piece of shit.

but now I am in a different part of life, as I am in college and now it’s summer break. So i REALLY wanna take this seriously and i even started to build a habit of drawing at least one hour a day.

Hopefully I can finally draw.

ANYWAYS!

my interests changed, and I am no longer into Roblox media besides PHIGHTING! And my obession, the Lezus mythos!

Besides that I also been into Hytale and it’s been taking all the space in my head the past few months. Also ALSO The Outlast Trials became one of my top 5 games and i love it.

who knows? Maybe I would also start sharing my headcanons for these three as I been writing a lot, including AUs and headcanons.

Finally drawing after a while and i tried drawing a body because i refuse to draw more boxes. It’s bad and i didn’t know what i was doing with no reference, just rawdogging it. I don’t know what art style i’m going for, just throwing anything at the wall and hoping it sticks. Besides I didn’t spend a long time on it because it been a long time.

This time i will be too busy with personal life to have the time to sit down and draw. So what did i do?

I stopped drawing boxes, kinda. I am so tried of drawing boxes with correct perspective everyday made drawing feel like a chore. And i found out most if not all the artists I know don't draw boxes this much nor know perspective made me realise i was making it hard for me for no reason.

so i tried drawing a figure, barely used a reference until i got to the arms part which i sucked at. It’s a shame, before the arms it looked so good.

ALSO this could technically count as day 3 of drawing cuz the night before I tried drawing a Roblox noob sitting down in 2 point perspective, but i struggled a lot and I had to rely on a ruler for the second hand. Besides I didn’t even draw the head.

so out of boredom i tried drawing my setup, struggled a lot with drawing the keyboard and mouse, and ESPECIALLY my monitor’s base.

I tried drawing flat 3D rectangles and i need to return to the basics again.

I got too bored and drew a little guy! Tried giving him a body aaaanddd yeah. I must work on arms

I ALSO drew a Robloxian and i must say that was fun, makes me wanna draw more Robloxians as a way to make drawing boxes fun

I already knew drawing is hard, but it’s really hard to stay motivated.

but more like MORE THAN A WHOLE ASS MONTH since i last drew, and it’s bad.

The main reason why I stopped is because I am too addicted to doomscrolling and being a beginner is infuriating.

nothing came out right, in lines and basic shapes. Perspective and 3D shapes humbled me HARD. It did not help that I saw how even the way i hold a pencil was considered “wrong”. And so i lost all motivation.

and what made it worse is that the PC i ordered has arrived and spent a lot of time playing video games on it.

but recently stuff been getting so boring. I got tired of doomscrolling, and even play games became somewhat boring. And so i decided to actually force myself to draw again, and in fact everyday for at least 15 minutes a day.

Okay this day i drew so little it’s embarrassing. I didn’t draw any practices like lines or boxes because i am sick of them. what i did is pulled Pinterest, browsed thorough references and copied them (or at least tried to.

Ignore the poorly drawn side profile, it was from yesterday.

the weird triangle shape thing i supposed to be my beauty blender, looks unrecognizable with no colors.

This one has to be my favorite. For this one i decided to bring my old fine liners and old coloring pencils from high school. And my god do these two suck, i will have to buy better ones.

also the reason why some lines are thicker is because i made a mistaken and decided to fix it this way.

This one was a MESS to sketch, i still suck so much at 2 point perspective. I will take this as a sign to return to the basics.

This was pathetic, i gave up half way through because i didn’t know what i was doing. I actually don’t know anything and i will have to relearn again.

I was also thinking of returning to Draw A Box. I stopped using the website because doing the homework was SO BORING IT MADE DRAWING A CHORE (yes, i did not listen and do the 50% rule. But again i was such a beginner i didn’t know what to draw outside the lessons.

Also FUN FACT i just learned that i was holding the pencil WRONG!

so for context, I was drawing the whole time using the same grip I use for writing (aka holding the pen so tight at the at the tip)

Apparently you’re should be holding it from the middle or something AND THATS WHY I CANT DRAW SMOOTH LINES IN ONE GO.

I TRUELY NEED TO RETURN TO THE VERY BASICS

so I been practicing lines and 3d shapes for a while, but these are the most recent, being from yesterday and today. I like them more, they’re more organized.

First one is some lines.

I am doing good with straight lines, however curved lines are hard. Any tips?

Some basic flat shapes to get a good grip.

it’s sometimes you gotta return to the most basics id you want the 3d ones to look better (i think)

bro i STRUGGLE with 2 point perspective, but i feel like i did good, kinda. Still can do a lot better with the basic 1 point perspective.

I also tried constructing my water bottle with cylinders. The cap is half assed tho. I’m kinda proud of it.
