Drawing from October of last year. - A younger Vygo, in his early 20s, attempts to capture an eagle fledgling straight from its nest. His twin sister, Indrys, is atop the cliff, holding the ropes that keep him safe, as well as giving him support, just as he will do for her when it’s her turn to catch her own raptor. To capture his or her first eaglet is rite of passage into becoming a hunter for Turvao Varanar tribes. Wild eaglets are captured from their nests, and taken into training. Females are preferred, as they are bigger and stronger than males. A hunter will keep his or her eagle for close to a decade, and after that, the animal is released back into the wild so it can continue its natural lifecycle. It’s not easy to catch an eaglet. Adults are very protective of their young, and nest in tall, steep cliffs. It’s a dangerous task to reach them, and one wrong step can result in a lethal fall, or in the best-case scenario, a life-crippling injury.

I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.

This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.

“Children are going to lie about their age” is probably true, but that’s the problem of them and the people who are responsible for them, not the people that they lie to.

Stop escalating your desire for censorship into a ‘safety’ concern. Since we’ve started to drown out the ‘purity-wank’ advocating for censorship because ‘think-of-the-children’ the latest push wave of censorship advocacy is against racism. - It will NOT work.    I’m here to tell you- as a minority/oppressed person.. I run into works that squick me out or cause me offence ALL. THE. TIME. and I leave them. I close them. I don’t expose myself to misogyny and ablism. I hate it- and I DO.NOT.ENGAGE with it. 

ANY and ALL attempts at censorship will always result in the most vulnerable group loosing ground. every time. It’s a slippery slope. Thin edge of the wedge.
