It's true, growing up is learning who you are and loving that person.

The biggest tragedy I see in this generation is people trying to convince someone of their worth. Be fair, relationships take time but you'll go mad trying to prove that you are worthy. Be kind to your soul and keep your heart and eyes open to the blessings that come your way. However, don't waste years of your life trying to get someone to act right.

There is a certain terror that goes along with saying "my life is up to me." It is scary to realize there's no magic, you can't just wait around, no one can really rescue you, and you have to do something. Not knowing what you want to do with your life- or not at least having some ideas about what to do next- is a defense against this terror. It is a resistance to admitting that the possibilities are not endless. It is a way of pretending that now doesn't matter. Being confused about choices is nothing more than hoping that maybe there is a way to get through life without taking charge.
Treading water in the middle of the ocean. A vast, unmarked body of water. No land in any direction, so how do you know which way to go? Overwhelmed by the process of being able to swim anywhere or do anything. Every direction seems the same- how do you get out of this damn ocean? Why swim in a direction if you can’t tell if you’re swimming toward something? Is it worth losing all of your energy possibly going the wrong way or do you hope?
