Summary: Y/n gets a text from an unknown number telling her she has four months to figure out who he is. What starts as a mystery turns complicated as his messages grow more personal—and harder to ignore—while she’s already falling for someone real in her life.

Trees swish back and forth — spring is here and the scene is bright.

Giyuu stands near — not close — but near enough to hear your conversation.

“I heard he’s very entitled. You shouldn’t try and be friends with a guy like him.” Said the lower rank slayer in a hushed tone. You sigh softly — crossing your arms and looking up at her with a bored expression.

“Well he’s very nice if you get to know him ! You’re just listening to rumors, and besides he should be entitled, cocky, whatever — I mean he IS a hashira.” You say matter a factly.

“Whatever, just dont be mad if he upsets you or something.” “Oh hush. Just go where you need to go.” You say while rolling your eyes for what feels like the hundredth time. You walk away from where you were, groaning out loud.

This is the fourth time this week someone has talked negatively about Tomioka with you and it’s safe to say you were sick of it. “Why is everyone such an asshole this week..” You mutter outloud to yourself.

Tomioka steps out from the shade — his soft but warm gaze falling over you.

“Tomioka? Wait did you — I’m so sorry !” You sputter out and shake your hands, trying to get your point across but seemingly falling short.

“It’s not your fault that people fall victim to gossip. I’m glad you can recognize what is and isn’t true.” He speaks — softly — wanting to let you know he doesn’t blame you for other people’s behavior.

He takes you in once more — admiring you’re beauty. All the things he’s never noticed before coming to light. Your warm gaze decorated by long separate lashes. Your lightly glossed lips reflecting with the sun’s gleam and sharp but also somehow soft features all blending together in breathtaking harmony.

Most importantly, you get him and his mannerisms — you get why he is like this, why he is last to answer questions, why he prefers to listen to you talk about your day and activites.

You were the thing tethering him down to earth — you made him feel strongly again.

He’ll never tell you though — thats your job. He smiled to himself as you ramble about everything thats happened so far.

For now, he will admire from afar and wait for the day you feel for him like he feels for you.
