On "a thousand purple blossoms": from my understanding, you're correct that FE18's JPN title evokes flower field imagery, but the exact compound used, 万紫千紅, is literally "ten thousand / violet / thousand / crimson". The significance here is in the *great diversity of colours* among the implied blossoms; some poetic translations I've seen include "multitude of colours", "riot of colour", "colourful abundance".

In that sense, "weave" - what with associations of a tapestry woven from a multitude of vibrant threads - seems like a good localisation. ...Certainly better than "Three Houses" was.

(I also wonder whether it's possible it was chosen because both 紫/"violet" and 紅/"crimson" contain 糸/"thread"... Am I overthinking?)

If this is overthinking, keep at it.

The many JPN flower / colour already have me more intrigued than "Fortune's Weave"

It feels so exciting to finally share this one! I've done this piece last year for Fate, Refracted, @fefateszine created for the 10th anniversary of the game's release :D I have lots of good memories related to this game and playing it with friends back when it realeased, so it was great to revisit it after so many years.
