Longspot Gotch is honestly so funny.
"I need you to go and steal this farm where a man makes his living with his wife and son."
"Uh, their daughter actually."
"Oh shit, for real? Good for her. Anyway go steal their home."
Worst ally ever, I hate him.
To quote Kalvaxus; "I'm Fiscally Conservative but Socially Progressive! I'm a libertarian!"
Cloudward Ho might possibly be my favorite Dimension 20 season ever.
Outwards Past Beyond.
Pappy, I'm livin'
The failure to save Comfrey.
Marya's near sacrifice.
The Poetry of The Creator (Ludmila) destroying the Creator (Comfrey) In a parallel to the Creation (Straka) Destroying the Creation (The Zephyr.)
That last scene with The Mechleod.
"On High We Go, Cloudward Ho."
Reginald: *texting Phoenix* "You're late. What's going on?"
Phoenix: "not coming."
Reginald: "why not?!"
Phoenix: "the seagull I've been feeding for months finally let me pet it so this is more important."
Reginald: "ZOR IS LITERALLY TRYING TO DESTROY THE WORLD, AGENT!"
Phoenix: "YOU FIX IT FOR ONCE!"
Reginald: "I'm not the Field Agent!"
Fabricator: All resources and personnel are in place! May we proceed? Dr. Zor: Negative. Abort mission. Fabricator: ...WHAT? Dr. Zor: DO NOT MAKE ME REPEAT MYSELF. Fabricator: ...I-... I understand. Eh-hem. Aborting mission. Dr. Zor: *watching through binoculars as some dude pets a seagull he's been feeding for months on the other side of the bay* I'm so proud of you... You finally made a friend... (╥ ᴗ ╥)
Dr. Zor is secretly looking out for us? A foe or perhaps, a friend? XD
I thought it would have been
Fabricator: All resources and personnel are in place! May we proceed?
Dr. Zor: Negative. Abort mission.
Fabricator: ...WHAT?
Dr. Zor: Either Agent Pheonix is Dead, or is already in the midst of halting our Plans.
Dr. Zor: If they are dead, We must figure out if their insanity and idiocy has finally ended them, or if there is another presence that has ended them, and how, for if it was not Pheonix that burned themself out, whoever has is more Threatening to our livelihoods that They were.
Dr. Zor: If they are in the middle of making a mess of our wishes, then perhaps stopping without warning may catch them off guard enough to finally end Their Life.
Reginald: Phoenix's car just pulled up!
Roxana: finally! I was just thinking about reporting them officially missing!
Agent Phoenix: *walks in with grocery bags in each hand and an absolutely massive backpack that looks so heavy it might burst* I'm home!
Reginald: where have you been?
Agent Phoenix: I said I was making pasta for dinner. I needed parmesan!
Roxana: oh, were they out and you had to go all over town for it? You've been out for over seven hours, there's no way it took that long!
Agent Phoenix: well the farm was like three hours away.
Reginald: ... Should I ask why you needed to go all the way to a farm?
Agent Phoenix: where else am I going to get a fresh 72 lbs wheel of parmesan?!
Reginald: ... Agent Phoenix, Italy isn't in driving distance to us.
Phoenix: I know. I flew.
Roxana: You flew.
Phoenix: I flew.
Roxana: ... What did you fly on or in?
Phoenix: That shiny jet in the Experimental Aeronautics Division.
Roxana: You mean the Navy Blue VTOL?
Phoenix: Yeah! That's the one!
Roxana: The one that had several warnings attached to it? Such as "Highly Experimental," "Not for Agent Use," and "Especially you Agent Phoenix!"
Phoenix: ... It's really good cheese.
Roxana: If this is not the best Pasta I have ever had, you're being my office assistant for the next month.

Zor: *trying to hold a meeting but keeps stopping mid sentence*
Fabricator: is something wrong Doctor? You aren't getting sick are you?
Zor: no I just... Have a strange sense of being watched. We've triple checked that the room isn't bugged, right?
Caliente: at least five times, boss.
Zor: perhaps I'm just paranoid then.
Phoenix: *who has been hanging from the chandelier for 20 minutes after they slipped from their perch* please just finish your speech soon. My poor weak fingers...
Apparently the room is full of gamers suffering from Doesn't Look Up Syndrome
If there will ever be one truth about the human race it's that we do not like to look up even if we really should. This is coming from someone whose college roommate was a very angry architect That was extremely angry that she could not do more details in ceilings because people would overlook it
I would appreciate her detailed ceilings. Something neat to look at during Floor Time
Oh man, I love floor time.
To be fair, we didn't evolve with Birds of Prey coming after us all that much, and most things we fought were on the ground, either hiding and waiting, or because they were very BIG.
Plus it's very hard to see where you're going if you can't see they floor.
It's not a Gamer thing, it's a Homo Sapiens thing.
i'm sure this post has been made before but the "the list of people i trust and things i believe is down to no one and nothing" to "i trust angus mcdonald entirely" journey that taako takes in the span of roughly one in-fiction hour during lunar interlude reunion tour is so important to me. adventuring partners and friends who have saved his bacon more times than he can count? nah fuck em. organization that has protected him and given him a purpose and fresh start? new stone of farspeech who dis. this nerdy ass boy detective? "angus i trust you implicitly and here's the 100% exact truth as we understand it"
You know, I always thought Angus and Taako had a Cousin-Like relationship. Not quite sibling, no, but someone with a strong moral compass, that wants to see Taako succeed, that understands that Taako is strong ...
The fading Embers in Taako's chest that rested where his heart should have been were given just a pinch of life and empathy that he couldn't remember himself having.
Three spoons or forks or whatever. This is still Taako we're talking about. But it was something.
It was more heart than he thought he had.
And Angus was the closest thing he could remember. That he was allowed to remember.
It's all meta narrative of course, but that's what makes the beauty of Balance. It's about the jokes being serious, the meaningless being seen through a new lense and made into something meaningful.
I genuinely honestly believed that Tucker was living out some sick twisted version of grief after his wife died in a tragic accident when it turns out he’s actually just a terrible horrible unredeemable monster who should die immediately
I'm rewatching TUC right now, and I just noticed that, in Pete's first conversation with Robert, Brennan, as Robert, says "Wouldn't want to say your real Name." as opposed to when Brennan as the narrator says "Your DeadName."
Which on my first watch-through I didn't catch it for a number of reasons but it's interesting because, of course Robert Moses isn't "Into Politics" but loved Reagan so he sucks, but, like, even if Brennan and Ally were playing it up for the bit, the immediate jump from Robert of a somewhat ambiguous topic as the economy (Insofar as an economy being a concept put into motion than any specific thing or place) too a much more personal and selective showing of his real nature as a person.
It's just such a simple Blink-And-You'll-miss-it moment overshadowed by the fact Robert knows about Pete's father that lets you understand more deeply than just the Reagan thing.
you go from "Oh he's weird and ominous" to "Oh he's bad" to "Oh, he's Bad."
Saturday and Sunday Are
The First and Last Days of the Week, like Heels of Bread/Ends of a Line Segment
The last two days of the week, trailing like a tail of a creature.
I'm genuinely Curious and would like to know your thoughts in the Replies/Reblogs.
Personally I think it's the First one, but I know that, at least Brits have Monday as the First day of the week

nothing crazy!
I mean relatively-
So that episode was
It was
Yeah.
Rashab? Real?
TBH I'm disappointed no one use the tanks cannon. That'd been awesome.
The only thing I'm taking as Canon for now for Tony is that he dodged the draft and lived in Dewar. All the other stuff was the last of the alcohol and painkillers in his body making him misremember things.
We’re going to get up there!
the savior

I would like to retract my previous "defense" of Tucker Trout, however light it may have been. Fuck that man.
I just listened to the Peach Pit for Episode 4, and when Matt first started about how He personally felt towards Trudy and subsequently other Robot/AI/Manufactured characters I was a bit surprised and also slightly irritated by how strong his stance was on it, but that's a me thing.
And then he brought up that Black Mirror episode, and he makes a fair point (As far as I'm aware, as I've never watched it.)
It reminded of the Clockmaker's Daughter Musical (Spoilers ahead, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE SOUNDTRACK), Where a Clockmaker who loses his Wife and Child build himself a new daughter, and to keep her safe from the outside world, he does his best to make sure she's always hidden.
When he does this it's bad, it's mean - She's unhappy being locked away, she's curious, she wants more than the view outside a window.
The Clockmaker Loves her, truly loves her, wants her safe, but in that way, his love is abusive, the Daughter literally asking "How can a man with such Passion Kill his Compassion?" at some point.
Who can blame the man for wanting his daughter back? Who can blame him for wanting to keep her safe?
Who can blame the Daughter for leaving her prison? Who can blame her for her curiosity and defiance?
I think that's Trudy's deal - Tucker wants his Trudy, likely one that passed away years ago - He sounds truly hurt and somewhat heartbroken at lying and "killing" our Trudy, I do think there is love on some level at some amount, despite his neglect - but He can never get it just right (Or perhaps he's simply wrong about the OG Trudy) and so he makes another, and another, always Vying for something he lost and can never truly replace (And doesn't want trudy spending time with people that may get her hurt - they'll see her true self and get rid of her.)
and Trudy Alpha, broken and discarded, wants to look and act like "Her" they'll all be perfect, they'll be "Her" the 'real' Trudy, one the Tucker is so desperate for.
Tucker is Desperate for his love back, and wants her to be somewhat safe - after all, Why would there be so many Trudy's if NOT trial-and-error to get the "Right" one? And if he just needs someone to do the housework - Why bother making them "Live?" Why not make just a robot to do the chores?
while Trudy, meant to act like a person, WANTS something outside of her Family unit, she WANTS to spend time with Gutteral Scream, She's not fulfilled by raising the children and doing the housework - which is something that most woman have seemingly have felt, especially in a time like the 50's, with Beth mentioning the regression of the view of woman in the time period.
Which brings me back to my original point.
Can you blame someone for wanting companionship so bad they make it, and can anyone blame those companions for wanting more than their relationship with their creators?
and also Matt Arnold losing sympathy for machines is something I personally cannot understand even if it makes logical sense.
Is that like a Neurodivergence thing? Caring about Manufactured characters that because they don't quite understand what it means to be Human (Normal) and are often earnest and somewhat naive, and usually learn to fear showing their true selves (When they stop Masking) because if they don't pretend to be Human they get ostracized?
Or is it because I grew up with the like of The Brave Little Toaster, and Toy Story, and Wall-E?
Is it both?
It's Probably both.
Mr. Arnold, I can't say I understand, but I will try not to judge you for it.
