Boy oh boy, Reki did not lie when he said he’d make Langa regret ruining his plans. Langa stood speechless when he saw Reki make his way out of the hufflepuff basement with a simple flowy yellow dress, star shaped earrings, and a gold head wreath placed upon his beautiful red hair. Langa had a dark beautiful royal blue suit on with earrings, that matched Reki’s star shaped ones, and a yellow rose in his pocket. They held each other’s hand and Reki shivered as they made their way towards the ball. Langa placed his coat over Reki and zipped it all the way up to the bottom of his chin. Okay so what if Langa didn’t want anyone else staring at Reki, his small victory would be short lived anyways. Reki just shook his head before quickly sliding his fingers between Langa’s and hummed happily as they made their way. After a few dances and snacks, some idiot set off fireworks on the dance floor causing everyone to evacuate due to the smoke and sparks. Langa and Reki ended up heading towards the astronomy tower. The fireworks went off again, but this time the idiot behind the fireworks prank managed to set it off outdoors and it was quite beautiful. The fireworks changed to different shapes and animals as each one went off. Reki suggested they climb the ladder by the side of the astronomy tower and sit on the rooftop to get a better view. Once at the top, Langa extends a hand to Reki to help him up while asking “so…what DID you do with the rest of the potion?” The hufflepuff boy responds by grabbing Langa’s extended hand and pulls him in for a kiss. As if on cue a massive firework went off in the sky lighting it up a bright orange. The sparks change from orange to soft and beautiful crystal blue butterflies who slowly fluttered down and disappeared. Langa kept his his eyes closed for a few seconds after their kiss because he didn’t want this dream to be over. When he opened his eyes, he saw Reki smiling softly at him, and Langa felt as if the magical butterflies from the fireworks disappeared and somehow got trapped in his stomach. These butterflies in his stomach for Reki would never to away. Why? Because they were made of magic.

Langa pinned Reki against the wall and blurted “look here, Reki i’ve been dying to ask you this the whole day… so would you go to the Yule ball with me? Not as a friend but as my date. Like MY date?”, Reki’s eyes started flooding with tears. Langa realized how hard he had grabbed Reki and started to panic “shit sorry Reki, I didn’t mean to be so aggressive with you”, he loosened his grip on Reki’s wrist. Langa’s heart dropped because he made Reki cry and ruined everything. Why couldn’t he stop being so possessive and jea— WHAM. Langa’s back was slammed against the cold wall. He wouldn’t have believed what happened if he didn’t see it with his own eyes. Reki had grabbed Langa by his robe and pushed him against the wall with trembling hands. Reki hiccuped and he spoke as tears streamed down his face. “L-langa you JERK! I-I wanted to *sniff* a-ask you to the y-y-Yule ball f-first! Do you know how l-long I had to work on making that confidence p-potion w-with Tadashi just to a-ask you out?”. Langa felt all his jealous and possessive thoughts leave his mind when he saw the sight before him. His happy, shy, and beautiful Reki had snot running down his nose as he scolded Langa. Langa couldn’t help but brush Reki’s hair out of his face and wipe his tears, then nose, with the sleeve of his rob. Pulling Reki into his chest, Langa held Reki until he calmed down and whispered in his ear “shhh I’m so sorry”, then after a while he asked “Reki?Reki stopped trembling and let out a shaky breath “y-yeah?”. Langa kissed his forehead and tilted Reki’s upward so their eyes could meet once more and said “I would love to go to the Yule ball with you, thank you for mustering up the courage to ask me without the courage potion”. Reki blushed and nodded before hugging Langa and muttered into his neck “y-your welcome, but i’m going to make you regret ruining my plans”.

“Huh?”, Langa looked up at the dark blue haired Ravenclaw prefect— Adam. What was he doing in Langa’s first-year class? “I said Langa, darling, you and I are both from pureblood Ravenclaw families. We are a perfect match, there is no one else more worthy for us. Would you like to go to the Yule ball with me?”. Langa suddenly stood up and his eyes sparkled with joy. Adam thought it was because of him and held his hand out for the light blue-haired boy to grab. Instead Langa started packing his things quickly once realizing that class was over and that Reki was waiting for him in the library. Adam would always appear at the end of Langa’s classes and give a dumb speech about purebloods being soulmates. Langa grabbed his books then ran out of his History of Magic class; leaving behind a dumbfounded Adam. Langa managed to find Reki studying in a carrel desk, with his eyebrows furrowed together in concentration. Reki’s hand adjusted his glasses, as he looked back and forth between his herbology book and his notes. “Reki!!!!— OOPS SORRY!” Langa whispered embarrassedly as he made his way past other angry students who told him to hush. Before Langa could reach Reki, the Hufflepuff prefect— Tadashi lightly tapped on Reki’s shoulder and smiled when he Reki looked up at him. Langa clenched his fists by his side and imagined pulling out his wand and hexing Tadashi in ten different ways. The older boy wouldn’t even manage to mutter Reki’s name by the time Langa was through with him. Tadashi seemed to be telling Reki about something then handed him a tiny object, which made Reki flush a bright pink then grin. Before Reki could respond Langa cut in. “Hi Reki, what are you doing?!”. Reki quickly attempted to hide the object behind him, but Langa caught his wrist and pulled it up to his face and saw a crystal shaped vial. Langa furrowed his eyebrows at Tadashi and said with clenched teeth “what are you giving him?”. Was it a love potion? How low was Tadashi willing to go to win Reki? Langa couldn’t help himself from getting angry. Reki sensed Langa’s anger and quickly grabbed the vial out of Langa’s hand with his other hand. “Langa it’s not what you think, you see Tadashi here was helping me—“. “Helping you with what?” Langa tightened his grip on Reki’s wrist and pulled him closer. When Reki’s worried eyes met with Langa’s furious icy blue ones. Reki seemed to lose his ability to communicate, hesitantly looked away while blushing. Langa was furious, Reki NEVER kept secrets from him. “Fine if you won’t tell me, I’ll find out for myself!”, Langa opened the vial and drank half of the green liquid. Tadashi raised an eyebrow at Langa and jokingly said “are you in love with me yet?”, Reki smacked his book against his stomach to shut him up and stared at Langa worried. “Langa are you oka—“ Langa grabbed Reki’s wrist and dragged him out of the library and into the corridors.

Langa groaned as he heard his classmates chatter excitedly about the upcoming Yule Ball. Many girls and boys shot Langa a longing look, hoping to be his partner to the ball. However, Langa was too busy chewing his bottom lip and nervously twirling the end of his robe between his fingers, as he thought of a hundred different ways of asking his beloved Hufflepuff crush to the ball. Trying to calm himself, Langa settled for resting his head on his folded arms and began to wonder if Reki even wanted to go. Knowing Reki, he’d probably be more interested in spending the evening studying plants in the herbology greenhouse. Professor Sprout had a soft spot for Reki, so she had given him permission to use the greenhouse during his free time. Obviously, Reki would drag Langa along with him and they would often spend rainy days together in the greenhouse. Langa would sigh happily as Reki ramble on and on about something called a devil’s snare. Langa loved his quality time alone with Reki. Not only did being in two different houses make it hard for them to be together, but also the fact that Reki was popular because his shy and kind nature attracted many people. Someone was ALWAYS looking for Reki or needing his help, and it annoyed Langa. Why couldn’t people leave him alone? Reki would sympathetically look at Langa and whisper ‘I’m sorry’ before being dragged away by someone. Reki was constantly giving and helping more than he was receiving from others and it frustrated Langa. As innocent as Reki is, Langa noticed the un-hufflepuff-like stares follow Reki; whenever he entered a room. Reki was a sexy son-of-a-b*tch and Langa knew it. The only problem was that everyone knew it too; except Reki. Reki didn’t know how much everyone loved him. He was always too busy trying to play catch-up and learn more about the wizarding world; which he didn’t even know existed until a months years ago. Every time Langa saw someone’s eye shine with admiration for Reki, it made something in his stomach turn. This monster within Langa grew and he couldn’t control it. He did his best to never let Reki find out about this monstrous side. He especially hated it and find it hard to control his emotions whenever the Hufflepuff prefect, Tadashi was around Reki. “Langa…Langa-kun…~…you…~with me?”, Langa, looked up and snapped out of his daydream.

After all these years I finally caved and drew my first fanart for Critical Role...I am simply That weak for forehead touches 💜🧡
