this is a step by step guide to staying safe when trying to be taken (kidnapped, raped, etc.)

I learnt this at school today, and would like to share with all boys and girls.

If a person grabs you by your wrist with one hand and begins dragging you, keep your pace the same as theirs, place your forearm against their forearm, and take a step behind them so that their arm is forced to be pulled upwards and back if they want to still hold on to you. In doing this, their reflexes will automatically make them let go, and at this point you run.

Trying to hurt your attacker, whether it’s to get out of a hold or to buy more time, is never the right choice as it can escalate to a fight.

If your attacker is holding both of your wrists with their hands, pull your hands to your upper chest. If they won’t allow you to move your hands, start pushing in their direction and they’ll immediately start pushing towards you, at which you will stop struggling and your hands will travel towards you due to their added force. Now put your right elbow up, keeping your hands in place, and push your elbow down into their arm in a loop motion, sending their arm down. Do this incredibly fast with the other arm while they’re taken aback and trying to grab at you again in their state of shock, and absolutely run for it. Remember: DON’T FIGHT.
