Bragansas
On a street corner near Kennington Underground Station, there is a house with what appears to be a bricked-up doorway on one side. However, all is not as it seems, for this image of a door is in fact a bragansa, a “spirit door” or “tombshadow” in the Cognate language (if loosely translated). The Sharaara Tlar believed that such bragansas allowed one to share a home with the spirits of those who don’t exist.
If this all sounds a bit otherworldly, it is. The plaque marking the brangansa is part of the Kcymaerxthaere project, which charts a parallel universe that intersects with our “linear” Earth in certain places. The stories of Kcymaerxthaere are told through various means in our world, though most notably via such bronze plaques marking the various intersections between universes.
