Behold the grunge rock awesomeness that is 1,000 musicians - guitarists, drummers, bassists, and singers gathered in Cesena, Italy to form the world’s largest rock band - performing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit". We’re pretty sure that even Kurt Cobain heard this spectacular performance.

POW! WOW! HAWAII! 2015: Day Four, Part One.

Thursday was the hottest day so far of POW! WOW! HAWAII! 2015 but all the artists from around the world cut through the heat via artistic creation for the epic street art festival.  Many of the pieces are shaping up and being finalized as artists only have today and Saturday left to complete their work.  The murals above are by: Woes, Saber, Maya Hayuk, Hueman, Mark Dean Veca, Esao Andrews & Aaron Horkey, Tristan Eaton, DEFER & CKaweekS and NoseGo.

HAWAII! 2015 but all the artists from around the world cut through the heat via artistic creation for the epic street art festival.  Many of the pieces are shaping up and being finalized as artists only have today and Saturday left to complete their work.  The murals above are by: CASE, Smithe & CASE, James Jean, Mung Monster & Whomu (With Kamea Hadar & RONE’s piece from last year on the left), Strok, Reach & Debe, Kelly Towles, Maser and Natalia Rak.

These awesome electric guitars are modern examples of a Japanese woodcarving style called Inami, a tradition dating back to the 18th century or mid-Edo period. Inami pieces are carved entirely by hand by artisans who use over 200 different chisels to ply their craft on wood from trees native to Japan and these fantastic instruments are no exception. They’re the work of the Inami Wood Carving Cooperative based in Japan’s Toyama Prefecture.

Each guitar made by the Inami Wood Carving Cooperative is completely custom-made, requiring an average of 5 to 6 months to complete.
