The midnight wind whipped against your skin as you picked up speed, riding smoothly down the sloped street that your boyfriend had just taken. Despite the slight cold, sweat beaded on your neck from the near hour you had spent skateboarding around with Riki. It was something the two of you loved to do together, he was the one who taught you to skate and now you could almost keep up with him. Keyword being almost.
You had already fallen at least 3 times tonight, and had the scratches and pavement burns to show for it. Riki watched carefully from the bottom of the street, waiting for you to catch up to him before he took off again. As he watched you ride towards him, he spotted the large hole in the road before you did. He was unable to warn you in time, so your front wheel fell right into the hole and you tumbled forward off of your board.. right into Riki’s arms.
“Shit.. thank you Riki” you breathed, a little shaken by the close call.
“Of course babe” he replied smoothly, brushing it off like it was no big deal. You smiled as he leaned down to grab your board, knowing you well enough to understand that you’d be too scared to ride it again for a few minutes.
“Let's walk,” He shouted as he jogged toward his own board, “we are close to the park!” Riki picked up his own board and swung them both under his arm, waiting for you to catch up. When you met with him, he slung his open arm around your shoulders, pulling you in tight as you walked.

“I need that back after tonight though. You have almost every sweatshirt I own sitting in your closet right now” he chuckled, trying his best to sound authoritative.
“What's yours is mine” you teased, taking off running toward the park, his sweatshirt held captive now.
“Y/N- YOU LITTLE-” he yelled after you, quickly taking off behind you as well.

Lightly, Riki tugged on the base of your hair, causing a slight gasp from your mouth. He took the opportunity to dart his tongue across your lips and into your mouth. After a long dance rehearsal, Jake decided to come surprise you in your apartment. He pushed the front door open and was greeted by loud music playing from the living room. He set his stuff down by the door and quietly walked into the apartment, searching for you.
He found you standing in the middle of the living room, gaze fixated on the TV. On the screen was your favorite The Boyz music video. To Jake’s surprise, in your free time, you had learned all the choreography to the song, and were currently performing your own concert in the living room, including live vocals. You smiled brightly as you danced, completely caught up in the joy of the moment and blissfully unaware of your boyfriend's presence.
Jake watched with a fond smile on his face. He knew you could dance and sing, but you always tried to keep it from him, since it embarrassed you to perform in front of your idol boyfriend. He loved seeing you enjoy yourself so much, so he kept quiet, hoping you wouldn't notice him.
When the music video ended, you let out a delighted giggle and fell back onto the couch, exhausted from your dance workout. Your chest heaved as you fought to catch your breath. Jake studied you intensely, watching the rise and fall of your chest, admiring you. Slight movement in the corner of your eye caught your attention and you nearly screamed when you realized your boyfriend, Jake, was standing there.

“Baby. You know that's not true,” you laughed, standing up to greet Jake. Your eyes grazed his figure, strands of hair sticking to his forehead with sweat. He wore a plain t-shirt and sweats, yet he was still more attractive than any other man you had laid eyes on. He managed to look ethereal even after hours of dancing with his band mates.
“You were just dancing and singing to them, you never dance and sing to me,” Jake whined as he pulled you against him by the waist. His eyes glittered with adoration and a tinge of playfulness. Jake loved to mess with you, and especially loved to whine when you fangirled over other groups. Every time he caught you listening to someone else he would pout and sulk until you were singing his praises again. Jake loved to hear you tell him how much you liked his music.
You laughed at his pouting, “Jake, I sing and dance to you all the time. I promise you're my favorite,” you explained, “no one could ever replace my wonderful boyfriend and his awesome members,” you added as you wrapped your arms around his neck, fingers tangling in the hair on the back of his neck.
Jake broke into a proud smile, chuckling, “Really?”
“Really,” you said, before pulling him into a kiss. He immediately responded, warm hands finding the small of your back and pressing you against him. The kiss was gentle, a small smile forming on your lips. You let out a giggle against Jake’s mouth as he kissed you.
His lips were soft and intentional, like he had memorized every curve of your mouth and knew exactly how you moved. His touch was different, wandering on your body like he was exploring it, feeling every curve and dip. The kiss quickly became hungry as Jake pulled you impossibly closer to him. He was incessant, kissing you like you were his lifeline. When you pulled away for a breath, Jake attached his lips to your jaw, trailing down your neck. With a satisfied smile he pulled away, “you’re sweaty from all that dancing,” he teased.
“Says you,” you laughed as you pushed against his chest, t-shirt still damp from the practice he just left.

The wind bit at your running nose as you sat on the cold park bench, still processing what just happened to you. The love of your life, the man you wanted to marry, Lee Heeseung, had just walked out of your life. No proper explanation. No closure. No real goodbye. He was just ..gone.
Tears streamed down your cheeks, briefly warm before chilling in the bitter cold. You stared up into the night sky aimlessly. It seemed like when you had arrived with Heeseung, the sky was full of beautiful stars. But now it felt empty, void of that sparkle you had come to love. There was no indication of where the sky ended and the ocean began, the only real sign of the beach was the distant sound of icy water crashing on the shoreline. It was like the world around you had simply stopped, there were no cars, no people, no animals, nothing but you, the sky and the ocean. It almost felt like the world was giving you the space to grieve, like it heard your shattered heart.
After god knows how long, your silent world was broken by the sound of a car rumbling up the road to the beach. You processed the sound of a door slamming and footsteps rapidly approaching you, but made no effort to see who it was. Simply focusing on the shivering of your body and the pit in your stomach. You only turned to see the person next to you when you felt a warm jacket wrap around your shaking body.
“Jake,” you managed to breathe out between silent sobs. Your best friend, the one man you trusted as much as you had trusted Heeseung. There was a faint smile on his face when you turned to look at him, but there was a sadness in his eyes. You wanted to stop and ask how he knew, how he was even able to get out of the dorms and come get you. Usually their manager was too strict on the boys to let Jake AND Hee see you, it was a miracle they even let you date Heeseung in the first place.
“He called me. Said you would need someone to pick you up,” Jake whispered carefully, not wanting to upset you more, as he came to sit next to you. His body felt warm and comforting next to you and, without a word, you cozied into his side. Slowly, your sobs became audible, the reality sinking in with Jake’s arrival. At the sound of your violent cries, Jake wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into a tight hug. It felt nice, Jake’s hugs were always the best. It was warm and safe, the only place you felt grounded in the upside down reality that was this night.
“You don’t deserve this Y/N.. I can't believe Heeseung would leave you like this,” Jake muttered, talking to himself more than you. It shocked you to hear how mad he was at his own member. He had known Heeseung much longer than he knew you, but there was a pull between the two of you that couldn't be denied. But something about his words tonight felt different, strained, almost like he was fighting not to say how he truly felt.

“How did you get here? Why- What-” you sputtered, emotional and confused by the combatting feelings in your chest.
“Hey.. love.. it's okay” He interrupted, staring into your eyes with that indescribable look, “I took a car. I gave my manager no choice, this wasn't about me or the group. It was about you. You know I would do anything for you,” He finished as he reached a hand to softly wipe at the tear tracks left on your skin. There was something about Sim Jaeyun that could always make your heart flutter. You knew it was wrong. You had dated one of his members, he was your best friend for god sake. But when you stared at that smile, it was like the whole world melted away. You could forget about Heeseung, their managers, the fans, everything. At that moment, it was just you and Jake.
Jake let out a small sigh, “Let's get you home,” he said, standing up while grabbing both of your hands to help off the bench. As you made your way to his car, one of his hands rested firmly on the small of your back, rubbing comforting circles across the fabric of your dress. Jake, ever the gentleman, made sure to open the door for you, and even went as far as to buckle your seatbelt, pushing down your shaking hands when you attempted to do it yourself.
The car, still warm from Jake’s drive, welcomed you in. You were quick to relax into the plush seat, smiling weakly as Jake closed your door and went around to the drivers side. It took everything in you not to curl up and go to bed right then and there. Though you knew Jake wouldn't mind, you still felt bad that he was here with you instead of back at the dorms.
“Thank you,” you whispered, eyes half closed as you stared at Jake. Something about this moment felt so wrong and so right at the same time. You were heart broken, devastated, but Jake was here. Jake always made your heart full, no matter the situation.
Another one of his charming smiles spread across his face as he reached over to hold your hand, “Of course, pretty girl, I would do it a million times over to make sure you're okay,” he spoke with that twinkle in his eye again. Admiring you like you were a vintage painting, something so beautiful yet so fragile. Had it been another day, another time, you may have noticed a hint of something deeper in the way he watched you.

Going on a roadtrip with your boyfriend to get away from fans and company restrictions was your idea, but the drive was getting a little boring.
Pulling your seatbelt out to allow yourself room, you turned your body sideways, tucking your legs underneath you in the passenger seat. This angle allowed you to watch your boyfriend as he drove, drumming his fingers to the beat of the faint radio. The sun, about 20 minutes above sunset, cast a subtle light over Jungwon’s silhouette. A smile settled on your face as you admired the man next to you.
This didn't go unnoticed, as Jungwon glanced over at your face, “What is it Love?”
“I just love you,” you sighed back, turning your body to face forward again.
“Okay.. weirdo” he laughed, rolling his eyes playfully before taking one hand off the steering wheel to settle it on your thigh. He drew slow, comforting circles into your skin as the road flew past.

“We are watching the sunset, baby” he responded, giddy from successfully surprising you. Your heart swelled at the genuine smile on his face. Your boyfriend was clearly planning this, timing it so that you didn't have to wait long. Glancing up at the sky, you could tell it was only minutes before sunset. As you walked towards the blanket and settled yourself on the plush surface, Jungwon scurried towards the car.
“One more thing,” he said, turning up the stereo inside the car so you could hear the playlist still running.
He then came to sit next to you, setting up the pillows behind his back before pulling you against him. You relaxed into his chest, laying your head again his neck and kissing his jawline.
“Thank you Wonie, this is beautiful” you muttered, watching as the sky melted into pinks and oranges. The warm lighting cast a glow across your boyfriend’s skin, and you smiled at the sight before he leaned down to capture you in a kiss.
One of his hands ran up your neck, slowly coming to rest on your jaw, deepening the kiss. There was nothing needy or wanting about the way he kissed you, it was purely love.

The sky was now an array of dark oranges and pinks, followed by the purple of early night. It was breathtaking, watching the stars slowly come into view above the setting sun. So far out into the country, there was nothing to disturb the sky or nature surrounding you. You could hear nothing but the wind, your music, and Jungwon’s contented breathing behind you. It was peaceful, a sort of feeling you could only experience with someone you loved as much as you loved Jungwon.

“How did you get here? Why- What-” you sputtered, emotional and confused by the combatting feelings in your chest.
“Hey.. love.. it's okay” He interrupted, staring into your eyes with that indescribable look, “I took a car. I gave my manager no choice, this wasn't about me or the group. It was about you. You know I would do anything for you,” He finished as he reached a hand to softly wipe at the tear tracks left on your skin. A soft smile grew on his face as he rested his hand on your cheek, stroking it with his thumb. That smile. Always that smile. There was something about Sim Jaeyun that could always make your heart flutter. You knew it was wrong. You had dated one of his members, he was your best friend for god sake. But when you stared at that smile, it was like the whole world melted away. You could forget about Heeseung, their managers, the fans, everything. At that moment, it was just you and Jake.
Jake let out a small sigh, “Let's get you home,” he said, standing up while grabbing both of your hands to help off the bench. As you made your way to his car, one of his hands rested firmly on the small of your back, rubbing comforting circles across the fabric of your dress. Jake, ever the gentleman, made sure to open the door for you, and even went as far as to buckle your seatbelt, pushing down your shaking hands when you attempted to do it yourself.
The car, still warm from Jake’s drive, welcomed you in. You were quick to relax into the plush seat, smiling weakly as Jake closed your door and went around to the drivers side. It took everything in you not to curl up and go to bed right then and there. Though you knew Jake wouldn't mind, you still felt bad that he was here with you instead of back at the dorms.
“Thank you,” you whispered, eyes half closed as you stared at Jake. Something about this moment felt so wrong and so right at the same time. You were heart broken, devastated, but Jake was here. Jake always made your heart full, no matter the situation.
Another one of his charming smiles spread across his face as he reached over to hold your hand, “Of course, pretty girl, I would do it a million times over to make sure you're okay,” he spoke with that twinkle in his eye again. Admiring you like you were a vintage painting, something so beautiful yet so fragile. Had it been another day, another time, you may have noticed a hint of something deeper in the way he watched you.
You don't remember much after that, just the warm, plush seat underneath you and the comfort of Jake’s fingers still entwined with yours. As you drifted off to sleep, you felt Jake steal glances at you, unaware of any meaning in them. The last thing you remember was the sound of Jake’s voice, saying something you couldn't quite understand as you drifted to sleep….
“I’ll wait for you Y/N, and when you're ready, I’ll be there”
