There was a fucking awesome cardboard dragon this year! Look at it, it's beautiful!

I got a pretty good seat for the knight fight, which meant I could get better photos than the last two times I went to this event.

The knights were quite chivalrous, as you can see.

There was some cool art throughout the faire as well.

Also these chickens that confused the hell out of me when I first saw them from a distance. "Are those fucking tribbles?" I asked myself before getting a closer look.

Also I got a new cloak and it's pretty snazzy!

Like real world carnivorous megafauna, a lot of Midgaheim's nonhuman population are considered maneaters, and said reputations are heavily overstated.

The Midgaheim Bestiary has hundreds of monsters in it so I'm not going example by example, so let's just take big prominent mythic creatures like dragons and ogres. Dragons generally view all creatures as viable to eat, but are also pragmatic enough to take notice that humans get really vindictive when you eat one of them and try not to do it. There is some debate among dragonkind about whether or not it's justified to eat creatures that are capable of speech - arguments against say it deprives the world of a valuable mind, arguments for include the fact that some creatures that speak (humans) grow in population at an alarming rate and radically alter the ecosystem when they do and could probably use some reigning in, and also EVERY creature can be capable of speech if magic decides to make them so on a whim, and dragons are obligate carnivores so they have to accept that to live they'll need to eat some things capable of higher thought. Some individual dragons are prejudiced against humans and purposely eat them on sight to try and scare others off, but this generally ends badly for everyone involved and is thus not a popular lifestyle among dragonkind. All of this is far more complicated that the simple human belief that dragons are man-eaters by nature.

Or take ogres as our second example. There are plenty of ogres in Midgaheim's long history who thought humans were delicious and routinely ate them. There are even some ogre societies that specifically include the view that humans are livestock as a cultural touchstone. But that, too, is far from unanimous - there are also plenty of ogres who recognize that humans are fellow people, albeit smaller ones, and give them the respect of a relative equal. There are more than a few ogres that have even fallen in love with humans and produced offspring with them - half-ogres are a common hybrid in Midgaheim.
