My first ever Rook is Nelisa de Riva. She's Zevran's daughter- though he didn't know of her (or her sister's) existence when he left for Fereldan. The girls grew up very poor, and when things got really tough, one of the mothers turned to other means of employment that resulted in her getting sick and passing. Now with two mouths to feed and one income- Nel's mother took them to House Arainai to proclaim they were Zev's daughters. This resulted in her being slain while the girls were ran off with threats of great pain if they were seen again. Fast forward almost a year later, two street urchin's tried to pick pocket a young Viago de Riva. He took them in, seeing a chance for them to be more than just another hopeless situation on the streets of Antiva City. It was Viago who also asked these girls never reveal who their father was- as it might mar their reputation and in some cases derail their futures all together. Nel's is generally considered the hot headed one while Zarina was the more charming and collected one growing up. As adults however (and after the events of Veilguard) Nel is considered the more charming, calculated, and cautious one. Zarina is more hot headed after the events of Veilgaurd. Though Zarina is fighting off the affection of one Illario Dellamorte. Nelisa is very caring toward people and their plights- having received none of that after her mother was slain before her eyes. She cares for people- something that Viago nor the other Crow's were fully able to take from her. Growing up in House de Riva- the girls promised that they would do that one 'big job' that would net them enough money to leave the Crow's and buy a plot of land, build a big house, and both marry and raise families on that land. This goal shaped a lot of of Nelisa and Zarina viewed their jobs and contracts. It was all a temporary but necessary step toward reaching their goals. Zarina was in Orlais on a long infiltrate's contract when all the events of Veilguard takes place. Viago and Nelisa had long considered her dead from the Blight before she shows back up. Nelisa, after believing her sister had passed, stayed with the Crow's and gets engaged to Lucanis. Below is pictures of Zarina de Riva.
