i may complain about one direction a lot, but i still have to take a moment to say how much i fucking love one direction. their music is still, all these years later, my happy place. watching old one direction videos is still one of the easiest ways to make myself feel better when i’m sad. none of the members of the band are perfect people, but i am so glad i got to know and love them. i have so many great memories attached to them, and i’ve met so many great people through them. i know 20 years from now i’m still gonna be singing along to Fireproof in the car and i’m glad for that.

going into this 1d anniversary a little bit (a lot) heartbroken. it is such an upsetting and still totally incomprehensible thing that one direction can never truly be whole again. i miss liam all the time. but i'm going to take the day to remember how happy one direction has made me throughout the years and how much they still do, even with that heavy HEAVY cloud that lingers over it now. i'm so glad we got to experience a 1d with liam in it. thank you liam for all the joy you have created and the joy you will continue to give me through the music and the memories. you were such an essential part to that feeling all those years.

i just met someone who had a triangle tattoo and i complimented them on it because it reminded me of louis’ and they looked me dead in the eyes and said “thanks, it means im gay” and FUCKING WALKED AWAY

certain people desperately scrambling for reasons to believe louis hates 1d as if it isn’t completely obvious that he doesn’t is so funny. like sorry gf your man is a FAN-fan. he’s a directioner.

no but really i think it’s so interesting that people feel like they have to project their own opinions onto him so badly. believe it or not, you can have opinions that are different than louis. if you hate one direction, you can hate them all you want, but that doesn’t mean you have to be validated by the idea that louis could hate them and cling onto any moment you can to say “ha ha! he agrees! 1d sucks!”. maybe he is proud of the band he was in for 5 years and actually genuinely enjoys the songs he created or his bandmates created and that he performed night after night. maybe he likes having one direction as a part of his overall legacy. it’s not at all a shocking concept lmao.
