Agere Red and Max Headcanons ❤️💜
(Separately, I mean. This is not a Red X Max ship post).
Red started regressing at some point in the old timeline. She didn’t understand what was happening, and she didn’t really like it either, only letting herself regress while alone in her room. In the new timeline, there’s a moment where Pink accidentally walks in on a regressed Red. The older sister is frightened, but the younger knows what agere is because of an internet rabbit hole (pun intended) she went down while looking at cute stuff. Pink explains regression to Red, helping her accept herself, and eventually giving her the confidence to tell Chloe and Luis about her agere. Red doesn’t put an exact age on her regression, but she is usually either a kid or toddler. She will sometimes regress to a baby if she is especially sad. Regressed Red tends to be more sensitive, but also more mischievous. She uses regression as a way to cope with her past, and to try to recreate the version of childhood she missed out on.
In the new timeline, Max starts regressing in his tween years. Similar to Red, Max doesn’t understand what is happening, though he is more accepting of his feelings. He does still keep his regression a secret, being able to hide it through the events of the movie. However, after the party, Max ends up slipping in front of Luis and nervously explains himself. Luckily, Luis is very accepting, and the two end up becoming friends. Max likes that Luis is strong enough to carry him. Max actually learned what regression was after coming to Auridon. The first thing he did after getting access to a computer was research why he felt small sometimes. The second thing was buying himself a paci and some fidgets that he keeps in his hat (Hatter hats are magical like that). He also made himself a cute caterpillar-themed onsie and matching blanket. Max also regresses to cope with his childhood. He regresses to about 3-5, and can also be quite sensitive. His regression became slightly more frequent after learning about the old timeline.
Bit of a different format than my usual agere headcanon posts. These just popped into my head earlier, and I felt like I had to write them. I almost want to make some kind of fanart or moodboard for one of them, but don’t hold me to that.
