 “69.” he says, without thinking much on it. Why 69 exactly? Well its hard to say.

“ Oh so you wish to eat me! ”   &   the hunter claps his hands causing his oversized sleeves to    swing    floppily back and forth.    He seemed to find it     amusing    rather than threatening, even though there was some strange talking human-like creature that could potentially be     dangerous     to him.

“  But… I’d like to inform you that I’m not very meaty, in fact I’m far from it!  ”    The snowy haired man says as he opens his arms to show how     baggy    his tailcoat was on him. “  Oh but if you wish to eat me I guess I’ll allow it if you play a little game with me first!  ”

In some cases, Youpi is like and not like a child. His youth made it hard to understand people on a social level needed for today society. But his lack of humanity , or rather his lack of human genetics made it a good excuse to act like a barbarian. 

The thing was annoying and Youpi wanted to eat in peace. 

 “Doesn’t matter. I just want your brain.”  he stills. 

“I don’t know if I would call it ‘retain,’ since this body and the memories that I have don’t go together,” Kite admits. “But that’s semantics.” Somehow they get the sense that Youpi isn’t exactly the right person with which to have deep conversation, so pursuing this line of existentialism is pointless.

Back in the days when Kite was still human, he may have pursued the mystery of the Chimera Ants’ clothedness with greater fervor, treating the information as a scientific discovery. Now that Kite possesses Chimera Ant genes themselves, however, they honestly couldn’t care less about the fashion of their species. To each their own.

Kite folds their arms across their chest. “The Squadron Leader taking care of me hardly lets me out of his sight,” they say, careful not to mention Colt’s name in case Youpi has the urge to hunt him down for being a traitor. Then again, if Youpi felt that way, he could have tracked him down ages ago. Still, better safe than sorry. “So I guess I don’t have much choice.”

 He cocks his head, hunching down and preparing for a long and uncomplicated sentence to come out of his mouth. “Then how will you learn if you cannot go into danger yourself. Its stupid, to protect a chimera ant. From birth were strong already.” well strong enough to kill a normal human, though he suppose he never seen a ant with such a weak looking body before. Even if Pitou had a weak looking one, no one can deny her nen. 

 “How long will you be here then? Until your squad leader dies?” he shifts positions again, unsuited for staying still unless it was sleeping. His stomach growls but he ignores it, suited to concentrating on this one person. “...I’m hungry.”

That’s… a fair point, actually. Kite considers why they still feel discomfort at the thought of walking around naked when they are by all intents and purposes a Chimera Ant, and should not care about such trifling matters.

“I have to wear clothes if I’m to be passable amidst human society.”

(And now comes the difficulty of explaining why they even want that for themselves in the first place…)

“My former teammates would probably be uncomfortable if I forewent clothing entirely.” And why should I care about that? “…I just prefer it this way,” Kite adds with a bit of a pout. “Who are you to dictate what I should and shouldn’t wear?”

 “I have not.” he says carefully. Deep voice sounding much like a older frustrated brother. “I simply asked a question on why you are wearing human clothes and that has led to me questioning why I am wearing as well.”  true he could go all naked but there was the invisible force of censorship that stood against nudist tendency. 

 “I see. You are one of those who retain human memories before becoming a chimera ant. I am not like you since none of my genetic material is human at all. I was made completely from magical beasts. “

he twitches. 

The mention of the king invokes some sadness even in Kite; despite having never met him, there’s a tug on their spirit nonetheless. That comes with having genes from this species, Kite assumes.

“I suppose.”

That’s a good enough descriptor for them, so they shrug. “I’m dressed the way I wish to dress,” Kite adds defensively. “And what do even mean by that, dressed like a human? How does the dress of humans differ from that of Chimera Ants?”

He scratches his head, thinking hard about it. Pitou dressed like one. Shapouf dressed like one. Youpi is not immune to the mechanisations of clothing though in fairness he was birth with these pants on. And so he had no idea the whole time that he was wearing them until Kite pointed it out. 

 “I don’t know. Most ants were born with these on.” he tugs on the pants. Despite all his sex organs being inside him, he assumes there should be something like shame at being so close to being naked. But Youpi is 100% not human at all. 

“…Youpi.”

Kite isn’t certain how or why they know the Ant’s name; it simply floats to the forefront of their mind, as if knowing was as natural as eating or breathing.

Who am I, indeed? “My name is Kite,” they say after a beat, unsure how else to answer the question. “And I…” How can their birth be explained when even Kite isn’t fully sure what happened? “Well, I suppose I share a Queen with the rest of you.” That’s… a good enough start, right?

Would the knowledge of being siblings, cause some familiarity. it certainly did not cure the knowledge that, other ants were traitors. were killers. But Youpi shows nothing, his nen, quiet. Its too quiet. 

 “Kite.” he says. “The only ant then, younger then the king and I.” it taste like ash, to say former king. Because that one shining light, is gone. And he failed in his duties. But he follows the king post death. Value human life. He will go up and beyond for him. His wings shrink back into the body. 

 “Why are you dressed like a human?”

The blonde jumps back landing gracefully a foot back,     giving himself    space    from the strange creature. The moment the other became    possessive    of whatever it was he said was his,    a teasing smile spreads across Val’s face like an    idiot.

“  Says who~?   That was kind of close,    you know…    You almost landed on me you silly mongrel.  ”

 His wings fluttered a bit in the breeze. 

 “Then if you die, that means more meat for me.” he says casually mentioning cannibalism like its no big deal. But is it even counted when their not the same species? Of course not. Your just meat at times to Youpi.

A moment of serious overcomes Youpi, his instinct telling him, this girl is one of him. But at the same time... he feels a different sort of feeling then the normal weaklings. 

But then again, everyone else is dead. And so Youpi the monster is left alone. Directionless. 

One whole giant cow was dropped in front of the other suddenly. It was a sudden mistake on Youpi part and he made sure that he landed squarely on top of it.
