Palczewski, a professor of women’s and gender studies at the University of Northern Iowa who’s been collecting them for the last 15 years. The postcards portrayed the idea of change as something to be feared, not embraced, and they promoted women’s rights as an attack against family values as well as an infringement upon man’s place in society.
