#5 - âFar too long since weâve seen each otherâ hug
Cecil carefully snuck his way past the tables and bloodstones and people enjoying their meals to the doors to the kitchen. The host peeked in, seeing his old friend hard at work. His face brightened, and he hurried in, throwing his arms around him from behind and squeezing him tightly.
Cecilâs eyes lit up, and he took the plate from his friend. Excited, he gathered up a forkful of pasta and chicken and put it in his mouth. The host seemed to melt.
âMmh.. Itâs /really/ good, Earl. Youâre /very/ talented!â
Earl laughed, blushing a little.  ââŚThanks, Cecil!  Glad you like it!â
The radio host smiled wide, putting another forkful into his mouth.
"You've /definitely/ got to do this one on the show.."

Tomorrow is the last day of classes for me before grad. Being an adult is... Strange. Either way! I'm back and ready for rps! I'll be gone on the 23-24th for grad, but other than that! I'm here! ))

#7 - âSomething scared meâ hug
Cecil was a little on edge from a run-in with station management earlier. He had been talking about some things on his show again that he really shouldnât have been⌠And lets just say that a gallon of blood is a hard price to pay for disobedience.
The host was still feeling a little woozy, and was headed to the Midnite-All-Night Diner for something to eat. And a /lot/ to drink, when something ran by and brushed against his leg. He yelped and grabbed onto the first person that came close enough to him, looking as if he had seen a ghost- which, unlike angels, were 100% /real/.
Eugene gave his own yelp as someone latched onto him, and he wrapped his arms around them, trying to steady them.
âWoah there friend!â he giggled and smiled, âAre you alright? You look mighty frightened!â He couldnât help but be a little giddy: so far everyone had just pointed at him and screamed âinterloper!â. This was way more friendly!
Cecilâs face went beet red. He let go of the man, taking a step back.
âI- .. Iâm sorry!â He stammered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, âIâm so sorry, I did /not/ mean to- .. Uh..â The radio host tried to compose himself. And change the subject.
âYou, uh.. Youâre not from Nightvale, are you?â
Normally, Cecil would have participated in the regular Nightvale welcome, but honestly, he was getting very tired of driving new people out while screaming âinterloper!â. Carlos had been a new person, and that had turned out great!
He cleared his throat, and held out his hand, âCecil Gershwin Palmer. Radio host at the Nightvale Community Radio Station.â
Eugene slouched, âI-âŚyeah, Iâm not from around here.â He braced himself for a shout, and was pleasantly surprised when the man held out his hand.
âHiya Cecil!â Eugene grinned and took his hand. âIâm Eugene OâMalley! Y-youâre the radio host, here?â this manâs voice was not at all like Kevinâs, how could they possibly let him do the radio??
"I am!" He smiled, shaking the man's hand, "So.. What brings you to our little town? Where are you coming from?"

Cecil nodded, deciding against talking about anything of that nature any longer. Instead, he focused again on Earlâs cooking. It really was impressive, the host thought, it really was. He had no idea Earl could cook⌠What else could Earl do that he didnât know about?
Finally, Earl turned off the burner and began dividing the pasta among a few plates. Â It was a rich reddish color now from the wine. Â He took some on a small plate, being sure to get some chicken and tomatoes with it, and handed it to Cecil with a fork. Â âHere, try that!â

âLook..â Cecil laughed nervously as he put his arm around the previous mayor, âPamela. I understand that.. You know, calling press conferences is your /job/ now and everything, buuut..â He lowered his voice, âDonât you think this is a little ridiculous?â
Pamela blinked, the surprise clearly visible in her expression. âArenât you in the middle of your workday?â she questioned, allowing herself to land on the ground. They could have continued the press conference and renovations without him, of course. She turned to address the crowd once more, yelling at them while they recovered from the recent shock.
The host groaned quietly and held his head with one hand.
âI.. They can find a replacemâŚâ He sighed, â⌠Right. Still a.. Work day.â
Pamela didnât listen, but after only a few more seconds and death threats, the reporters left. She turned around to see that the radio host had not left and was saying something about ââŚwork dayâ.
âThe community will start fundraising,â she summarized the results. âItâs a shame I couldnât continue renovations in my own way.â
"Right.. A shame." Cecil nodded absently, slowly standing himself up. "Thank you, Pamela... For your help. I can take this from here..!"
