Finally I sewed cuffs!

Above you can see examples of different women portraits I used.

After researching other paintings from the first half of the 17th century, I decided to make one of these beautiful headpieces.

However the really interesting thing is the metal frame underneath. These were called "oorijzer / Ohreisen" (eariron).

These examples are originals which I used as a template. Looking for suitable material I ended up using a wire from the hardware store (🤭😄) ...

I attached glass beads to the wire. In the end, these are the only visible.

However, this is from the second half of the 17th century and I wanted to orientate more in the middle of the century. I searched for more paintings that fitted in the time span I set and quickly fell in love with Vermeer.

We decided to work mainly with these two paintings, although I could find other paintings in which women wore very similar yellowish bodices.
