Patience isn’t a virtue in roleplay.

It’s a fucking necessity.

There is a real person behind that screen. There’s a human writing your favorite blog. They don’t function on your schedule. And you should not expect them to. There are things such as time zones, we don’t all live where it’s after work hours or before work hours or even midnight at the same time.

Some of us have disabilities. Adhd. We get distracted. We are human.

Your partner does not clock in for roleplay.

Your partner is not getting paid to roleplay.

Your partner does not exist soley for your entertainment.

You can not reply and expect an immediate answer. You may get one, if they’re online. If they’re vibing the thread. You may wait a week? maybe two. Maybe your reply is in the queue system. maybe something happened and they can’t be online to write for a while. Maybe they’re not feeling well. Maybe they just don’t want to roleplay right at that second. People have many hobbies other than writing.

Role-play is a hobby. You need to be patient with your partners so it can be a fun hobby and not a stressful one.

Communicate, be patient, and realize you’re NOT playing a Single Player Game here. If you can’t do that?

sometimes people make starter calls, and don’t have time to make the starters. sometimes people make blogs, and they never get off the ground. sometimes people have to delete drafts for the sake of their own mental health, or due to a lack of free time. sometimes people reblog memes, and never get around to answering those that they receive.

possible pro tip to dealing with hate anons; if you’ve received a hateful anon, i know it can be tempting, or it can be difficult not to reply back. whether it’s to stand up for yourself against the hate, or because it’s always nice to receive reassurances from your mutuals that the anon is just terrible. but my personal pro tip for dealing with hateful anons? don’t answer them. don’t make any posts about having received hate anons. don’t acknowledge them at all. just delete the ask, and move on. let that anon sit there at the other end of the screen, wondering if their ridiculous message(s) that they were too afraid to send you without hiding their identity reached you. let them sit there, constantly refreshing their pages, waiting for a reply from you that will never come. let them sit there, wasting their time on you, while you carry on, posting about the things that you enjoy, be that silly ooc posts, headcanons, replies, whatever. because let’s face it, they want a response from you, and as soon as they get it, they’re going to keep sending more. so what better way to deal with them than by just simply not giving it to them? eventually, they’re going to have to realize that they’re not going to get what they want from you and that there are better things they can do with their lives.

The first largely depends on what you mean by intimacy. If you're referring to the act of sex in-and-of itself, Alrik is generally considered a fantastic lover. He's uncharacteristically selfless, sadomasochistic, open to a multitude of unconventional kinks, and even capable of being submissive despite his obvious preference for dominating. If you're a consenting adult human being looking his way, he will gladly take you to bed. Especially if he can stand to gain something from you.

If you're talking about the the way in which intimacy and bonds go hand-in-hand - the way in which one can be vulnerable with their partner, their friend, their family - Alrik is going to struggle. Like I mentioned before in regards to affection: he can fake it with the best of them, but he's too scared to let himself be so vulnerable.
