When you are balancing classes, homework, extracurriculars, and a full/part time job, it can be hard to find the necessary time to look after yourself. The important thing is to make good use of the small chances you get during the day! Iâve broken it up into time chunks, to make it easier.
Two Minutes
Brush your teeth/hair etc
Wash your face, or splash cold water on it
Drink a glass of water
Stretch! (especially if you've been sitting down for awhile)
Five Minutes
Take the stairs!
Jumping jacks/squats (I do them all the time behind the counter at work!)
Take a break and eat a piece of fruit
Ten Minutes
Walk instead of bussing
Reapply sunscreen if needed
Take a power nap if you need one
Do a short meditation
Twenty Minutes
Find a short yoga routine on youtube
Go for a quick run
Take a longer nap
Write in a journal/ Notebook if that's your thing
Thirty Minutes
Workout
Do a full yoga routine
Run/walk around your block a few times
Take the time to prepare a special, healthy snack for yourself!
One Hour or More
Workout weights or cardio
Tidy your room/ office space
Catch up on other duties (to relieve stress)
Prepare a meal and make enough for a lunch the next day
As its summer in half of the world, Iâd like to remind my friends in the northern hemisphere that health in the heat means drinking cold liquids to stay hydrated, wearing sunscreen to prevent burns and skin damage, and spending time in the shade throughout the day!Â
Take Care of Yourselves!Â
Some more advice:
1. Every time you go to the bathroom, try to squeeze in 20 squats, or as many as you feel comfortable doing. I use this a lot, specially during school time or when I am working. So, if you go to the bathroom 3 or 4 times a day, youâll end up with 60/80 squats per day! After a week or two, youâll start noticing differences!
2. Try to do some sit ups and crunches before you go to bed. 20 or 30 is enough, and your belly will thank you later!
3. In between study sessions, during those 10 free minutes, why not lunge a bit? I love doing lunges around my bedroom, specially while I am reading. Or if you have to grab a snack before you start studying again, donât walk to the kitchen. Lunge your way there.
4. Do some push-ups every day. I usually do this at night, one or two hours after dinner. You can start with as many as you can do. You can only do 5 at a time? Fine. The first day, do 5 push-ups. The second, do 6, and the third do 7. And so on, increasing the number of push-ups every day. After a few weeks youâll start feeling stronger and able to lift heavier things.
5. Are you bookworm? Well, let me tell you this. Books are great for reading, but you know what else you can do with them? Use them as dumbbells and work on those arms and shoulders. Full shampoo or body lotion bottles, or any bottle at all that is somewhat heavy, also work very well. And donât work out just your biceps. Use them on your triceps and shoulders as well!
6. DRINK WATER!
I hope this is helpful! Stay happy and healthy everyone!
@ august please be a little gentle with me Iâm so tired
shout out to me in 5 yearsâŚhope shes doing something cool iâm rooting for her
I like that âmorning babyâ kinda relationship. The no games, great communication, lots of sex, lots of kissing, lots of cuddling, lots of flirting, lots of being goofy kind of relationship. That makes you want to run 100 miles, read books, clean up your bad habits kind of love.
ew why did i let you know me like that

a baby can be born right now at 12:00, on a wednesday, august 24 in new jersey while another baby is also born in the exact same moment but they are born 9:00, on a tuesday, august 23 in california, these babies that are born at the same moment are technically because of time zones, a concept that we created ourselves, born âhoursâ apart even though really they are born at the same moment just not the same âtimeâ, one will be considered older even though in actuality they are the same
its kind of sad when you hit up and old friend and you both really miss each other but the connection just isnt there anymore

Grounding (what I do to help ground myself):
Cleaning and changing my bed sheetsÂ
Doing laundry
Dancing and/or singing
Baking and/or cooking
Take a shower and finish off the last 5 min with a cold rinse
Wash your face and rinse with cold water and moisturize
Brush your teeth (make sure you get your tounge)Â
Drink ice cold water
Walk barefoot (in grass or the woods preferably)
Work with plants and animals â garden, walk your dog, volunteer at a shelter/humane society
Pet therapy â yes thatâs an actual thing, talk to your therapist and or look up online to see if there are any options for pet therapy in your area
Somatic therapy
Grounding meditation of your choice
Breathing techniques
Put pressure on your chest by hugging a pillow or putting something heavy on your chest while you lay on your back â your cat, if willing, would work perfectly (I have a purple pillow so itâs perfect for this sort of thing)
Weighted blanket / weighted vest
Go out into nature and explore! No matter what time of year.
Go for a jog/run
Do yoga
Any other form of exercise
Writing about your day / how youâre feeling in the moment (journaling/blogging)
Massage therapy / scalp massage (if anyone is willing to help you)
Cuddling with loved one or animal loved one
Sensory modalities
Mindfulness activities using a sensory cue
Creation of a personalized sensory kit (bin of rice/beans/beads that you can run your hands/feet through and other physical stimming tools/toys)
Go swimming (natural body of water preferable)
Watch something funny thatâll make you laugh your ass off
If youâre too cold try and get warm, if youâre too warm try and cool off a bit
Eat something really healthy â my go-to grounding meal is spinach, romaine, roasted red pepper hummus, fresh guacamole salad with freshly chopped green bell pepper and scallions with some fresh minced cilantro, cumin seeds, and dried oregano. With a side of carrots. Itâs heavy but also healthy. And then a keto dessert of choice (low carb â high fat).Â
1. Neosporin is really good for stretch marks.  (for people who dislike them but always know that thereâs nothing wrong with having stretchmarks!) 2.  Clean rooms bring good energy. Open your blinds and turn some music on a get to work. You will feel great! 3. The first thing you should drink in the morning is water, nothing else. Try to drink three cups throughout the day. It not only helps you lose weight but clears your skin. 4.  Sometimes you just have to read certain shit and not respond, not everybody deserves to hear your answers. 5.  Face masks are great. Find whichever kind you think youâll like best and put it on after you take a shower and just chill in bed. 6. Too much coconut oil clogs your pores. Use it wisely. 7.  Going to bed at a decent time is cool. Donât let your phone distract you, the earlier the sleep the more energy youâll have the next.  More sleep = more motivation to get your work done. just do it. 8.  Naps are good and sometimes itâs okay to not do that one page of homework and call it quits to get rest. 9.  If you hate just plain water and you canât stand drinking it put lemons and other fruits in it. 10.  Water with lemon cleans your system out nicely and makes you urine more. 11.  Eight tracks is a good app for new music and playlist. If you havenât used it try it. Music always makes things better. 12.  Keep your private life to yourself or else you will have to face other peopleâs ugly comments. 13. Try to read at least 5 books this year or more, especially if you donât like reading. Reading benefits you in many ways, you will be proud. 14. If you have the time to get chores or homework done then do it, donât tell yourself youâll do it later. 15. Invest in good bath products, soaps and bath bombs and bath oils. they will do your skin wonders. 16. Invest in good hair products too, make sure you buy things for your hair type. 17. If you want to have sex then have sex and do you, forget the comments. Bring your own condoms if you must. 18. Be friends with who you want to be friends with. You donât have to be friend everybody. 19. Always stick up for yourself, but if you are wrong and you are being told so, take time to think and accept it. 20. Keep an extra pair of panties, pads/tampons, chapstick and headphones on you just in case. 21. Cranberry juice, yogurt, pineapples, apple juice and just natural sweet things in general.. eat it. I hope you catch my drift. 22. Mens shaving cream works better than womanâs, it makes you skin softer and hair stays gone longer. 23. Menâs razors provide a closer shave. Invest in them. 24. Buying lingerie or pretty undergarments in general will make you feel so much more confident. 25. Sometimes itâs good to just listen to people talk and let them talk for the sake of you not arguing and loosing brain cells. 26. Everybody should take a bath a few times out of the week or months. Baths open your pores and yes showers are cool but baths are A1. 27.  Always put on lotion after you finish bathing too. You want your skin nice and smooth at all times. 28. Save your money. as soon as you get it the first thing you shouldnât buy is food. buy things that will last and benefit you. 29. Mind your own business. Who cares about what the next person is doing? Just do you. 30. Organize your closet. 31. Always be nice to people who are always nice to you. 32. Compliment other people. Itâs good to uplift anybody. If you think somebodyâs shoes are cute just tell them. 33. Treat yourself to pasta and something nice to drink on Friday nights after a long week. Pasta makes everything better. 34. Just learn to love yourself and who you are as a person. 35. You have a right to feel whatever emotion you feel, donât judge your emotions. 36. If you are sensitive and people bash you for it, donât listen to their ignorant words. Sensitive people are usually emphatic. 37. Make a grocery list before you go shopping regardless of how lazy you are. 38. Take walks. If you feel bad and need to breathe, plug in your headphones and walk. They clear your mind. 39. Keep a journal and write in it whenever you feel as if you have nobody to speak to. Itâs a good way to get rid of things inside. 40. If youâre confident and you think you are the shit then you keep doing that. Or fake it till you make it. 41. Embrace insults. If somebody calls you a name turn around and flip it. People hate to see you unbothered. 42. Try to use natural/organic and cruelty free skincare/haircare products. Limit nasty chemicals, itâs good for both you and the environment. 43. Greasy hair tips - stop touching it so much, buy dry hair shampoo, donât wash it as much as you do already. 44. Donât decide to not do what you want to do because of what the next person says. Stop following ugly motions and please yourself. 45. Spend less time in your phone and watch more tv. Staying on your phone all day isnât good at all & it gives you peace at mind. 46. Grape seed. Oil removes most make up and is so much better for your face than other products. 47. When you know youâre fucking with somebody who isnât right for you, stop wasting your time and delete them from your whole life. 48. Stop allowing the actions of other people get you winded up to the point where you have no self control. You are better than that. 49. To my loves with vaginas, STOP WASHING IT WITH SOAP. take a bath and soak, stop fucking with your ph levels. 50. If you have dark knees are elbows itâs probably dead skin. Try exfoliating and washing harder to get it away. 51.  Thereâs this app called grid diary that lets you set up grids with questions, anything you want to ask to keep yourself on track. 52. Kat Von d lipstick is matte and blowjob proof. 53. Try and buy extra chapstick, gum, and small bottles of lotion on you just in case something comes up. Napkins too. 54. If you donât have a lot of friends, please understand this. You donât need a lot of friends to determine your value. 55. Have patience with yourself and take your time because none of us get better over night and itâs not a rush. 56. Donât be a afraid to ask for help if you need it. If you are struggling with something it only dampens your mood.
