You feed the madness and it feeds on you

That all radical feminists are just privileged, Western, wealthy, pearl-clutching white women with a savior complex.

I can tell you firsthand that this is bullshit. I, the daughter of black Caribbean immigrants, feel well “included” within radical feminism. Ever since being introduced to it, I’ve met other radfems of color. I’ve met black, Native, Asian, Latina, and mixed radfems. I’ve met plenty of lesbian and bisexual radfems. I’ve met Christian, Jewish, agnostic, spiritual, pagan, and atheist radfems. I’ve seen rich, middle class, and poor radfems. I’ve talked to radfems that are married with kids, happily single, or living a bunch of other lifestyles in between. I’ve contacted radfems of all ages, the oldest being 50, the youngest being 15. I’ve read the works of radfems from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 and Brazil 🇧🇷. I’ve spoken to radfems who used to be conservatives, libertarians, and anti-feminists. I’ve seen radfems consistently follow and report on women’s news in the devoloping world. I’ve talked and listened to radfems who are detransitioned, used to identify as trans or non binary, former sex workers, strippers and models, used to be in the BDSM community, or wholeheartedly believed in liberal feminism themselves prior.

We are diverse. And it sounds a little white feministy to ignore this.🤷🏾‍♀️

I swear, the idea that radical feminism is “white feminism” is not only ahistorical, revisionist, and false, but so insidious. I was talking about this theory I have with another radical woman of color. I think that libfems perpetuate this lie to divide us and scare women of color away from a feminist movement that actually works for our interests. Ironically, despite claiming to be “intersectional”, third wave feminism fucks us over the most..

Genderism? Erases women’s sex-based rights and silences discussion of women’s sex-based oppression, which disproportionately impacts women of color and global majority. Can’t practice “intersectionality” if you can’t even name what racism, classism, etc, intersects with to begin with.

“Sex positivity”/“sex work is work” stupidity? This one should be obvious. The sex industry is and always has been as racist and classist as it is sexist, and it’s always gonna be poor and disenfranchised women who bear the actual burden of this “work”. Liberal bullshit erases how the sex industry intersects with all oppressions and subjugates women of color in particular, so that they can pass it off as “woke”. They whitewash the trade and leave us to deal with the consequences.

The cultural relavitism that permeates liberal feminism (and western liberalism in general)? Obviously, silences non-white, non-western women from speaking about their oppression.

The overall individualistic and downright narcissistic emphasis on “choice” and focus on individual feelings and identities? Erases those who don’t have choices and always ends up neglecting the most vulnerable.
