Orchid Pearl Drop Pendant
The Racist Fandom Starter Pack
A canon interracial couple exists "I just don't see their chemistry" proceeds to fanon ship [insert white character] instead, claiming they have more of a connection.
"It's not their skin color, I just don't like them for some reason, btw, here are my top 5 [insert white actors] I think are better suited"
"Not everything is about race". They say, as they prop up every white character over any character of color.
"Please stop bring race drama into the fandom". Which translates to, I'm comfortable in my racism and don't appreciate any criticism, thanks!
White person, "Yeah, I wrote character of color as an animal, doesn't make me racist".
"I love character of color, here's a fic where they act like as [insert white characters] servant/therapist".
Character of color is such a bad friend for having opinions of their own/taking care of themselves instead of putting their friend [insert white character] first.
A character of color is morally ambiguous or a villain, gets redemption arc. "They're awful and haven't been condemned enough of their crimes". Stans [insert white characters] who did the exact same crimes or was a villain who's redemption arc is praised.
"Can't believe that character of color had the nerve not to die as a selfless sacrifice for [insert white character]".
"POC actress/actor is too ethnic and they'd ruin the character".
"I haven't seen racism in the fandom therefore it isn't there".
"Character of color is the main character of the show sure, but let's be honest, everyone came for [insert white character]
"Character of color is alright but I can only relate to [insert white character]".
Feel free to add more, that you've come across. Sadly, it all runs together after awhile of being in a lot of fandoms. Special shout out to all who helped me with these comments!
Bamon & Klonnie: how two perfect set ups were ruined by racism.
1) Damon has a narrative connection with witches especially Bennett witches.
We see that Damon made a deal with Emily Bennett to get Katherine out of the tomb. This is why he even comes to Mystic Falls but instead of going after Bonnie he goes after Caroline? Why? He protected Bennetts when Emily was put to death and knew Bennetts existed in Mystic Falls. Why would he not have been close with Bennetts (even if it is just honoring the deal)? Why would he not try and get close with a naive, young Bennett witch (whose powers activated because of when Damon arrived).
This was the perfect time to form a connection between Bonnie and Damon, so why didnât they? Racism! They just couldnât imagine how to put Bonnie and Damonâs book connection into the show plot because they made Bonnie Black. They were even inconsistent with the background because why would Emily just let Bonnie get attacked? Why wouldnât she, now a spirit, not know that Katherine wasnât in the tomb? Anyways, letâs move onâŚ
2) Damon is shown to have used a witch for help regarding the tomb beforeâand yes it was a sexual relationship.
Damon and Bree is the first time we see that Damon did have a relationship outside of Katherine. They actually dated and she fell for him but he broke her heart. However, their meeting still implies that not only do Damon and Bree have seen each other on and off, but they still have a sexual relationship. They literally kiss which shocks Elena! But what else do we see with Bree? Damon later kills her.
Because itâs okay to showcase Damon liking a Black woman when you know youâre gonna dispose of her later. You will see this with Greta and Klaus later.
It is only after killing Bree that Damon half-heartedly tries to persuade Bonnie into helping him.
But she rejects him each time.
It makes absolutely no sense that Damon, who had been characterized as cunning and smart, would wait until he has soured himself to Bonnie to get her on his side. He literally is shown to have put on a charming nice façade with Bree but they couldnât give that plot line to Bonnie? They were planning on turning Damon to an anti-hero anyways. Showing that he could be soft and nice with someone (in this case Bonnie) wouldâve been a better set up than that bad, misogynistic writing they did with Caroline. But remember, they can only do this if they planned on offing Bonnie so of course she couldnât get that.
3) Klaus and Greta
Back when Klaus was a more mysterious figure he was known to always keep witches by his side. People still say they donât remember this characterization but donât believe me? Hereâs proof:
He is known to keep witches around because Klaus craves power. He loves it and he needs it. We see it with Greta, a witch we thought he kidnapped but he actually has a sexual relationship with her.
But again, she is killed later and then in season 3 what happened? His centuries love for witches completely gets ignored and they have him chase Caroline who is more of a damsel in the situation. Why? Because giving Klaus to Bonnie would show Bonnie as desirable by (up until this point) the most powerful being of all and Julie canât have that.
They cited that Bonnie âwouldnât get with a vampireâ but Caroline literally rejects Klaus at every turn so it isnât as if Bonnie wouldâve been written to get with Klaus even if her pursued her. But remember racism is illogical when you really think deeply about it.
4) Klaus and Bonnie do have a historical connection: Ayana
Like Damon, Klaus also has an historical connection to Bonnie because he knew her (at the time of s3) oldest ancestor, Ayana.
Ayana is the one that makes the vampirism spell. She is the reason vampires exist! She created a whole new species!! How would that not intrigue Klaus about the power Bonnie could possess? Klaus already saw Bonnie have so much power that she nearly killed him twice! He would want to get her on his side. It makes so much sense but racism blocks any of this from happening.
Esther literally comes and channels from Bonnieâs line. The spirits give Bonnie dreams about Klaus and the coffins so she can awaken Esther and get rid of vampires once and for all. Why would Klaus not want Bonnie as a friend (and lover) rather than a foe? Because Julie Plec thinks Bonnie should just be the MFGâs handmaiden that canât be morally gray or do dark acts even though she canonically used to.
5) Both Klaus and Damon challenge Bonnie to be more powerful
I see this very clearly in the 70s Dance episode (2x18) and when Klaus kidnaps Bonnie to unbind them together (3x18).
Damon telling Bonnie she has the power of 100 witches so she can take on Klaus, then also itâs revealed he worked with her to protect her for when they have Klaus at his weakest? Excellent!
Klaus telling Bonnie she should have more faith in herself when she doubts that she can even unlink them in the first place? Perfect!
Actually why didnât they just have Klaus target Bonnie to unlink them in the first place before Esther could do the ritual? Instead of having Damon turn Abby in their loserish attempt to stop Bamon shipping this wouldâve been a great Klonnie moment but we wasted it on Klaro-nevermind.
So as you see, Bamon and Klonnie had the perfect set up and historical connection in the narrative to work. Anyone that denies this is either a racist or too canon centric (which is literally racist in its writing) to see it!

I really like how the scientology speedrunning trend is developing, in this clip we see that the participants are
Not deterred by the closed door
Working as a group
Protecting their identities
Inflicting material costs to the institution via property destruction
Getting away at the end
These ideas were not all here from the beginning. They are genuinely gaining experience that can be applied elsewhere
https://www.tumblr.com/nightbinz/809473423160049664/why-i-wanted-damon-to-make-bonnie-darker-rather?source=share
Iâve noticed a common theme with Bonnie shippers. Whether they ship Bonnie with Damon or Stefan or Kai or Klaus, etc, they all seem to want the male interest to make Bonnie darker and make her embrace her dark side, at least for a little while. They want the partners to make Bonnie embrace some selfishness, some revenge, etc.
This just shows me how incredibly antiblack the writers were by making Bonnie so much of a selfless helper, that people subconsciously acknowledge that the only way that Bonnie wouldâve ever chosen herself is if taught to in a relationship. Only if her male interests such as Damon or Kai or Ripper Stefan or Klaus were to urge her, to say âfuck the worldâ and go scorched earth and choose herself as she deserves, only then would she do it.
Just interesting to think about.
I wouldnât say we subconsciously think that Bonnie canât become darker by herself, itâs more so we donât want her to and why should she even have to?
When youâre a Bonnie fan you quickly see that there is so much lacking for her that you gotta fill up the gaps yourself. This has made us, Iâd say, some of the most creative people in The Vampire Diaries fandom because we have to make things from scratch. The fandom has evolved since the airing of the show when most people who were fans of her non canon ships (Iâll use Bamon and Bonkai for this) were mostly focusing on how sheâd make the men better and theyâd put her first. However, put her first meant not letting her die/sacrifice for her friends rather than distancing from them/cutting them off or become more morally gray as a result. This has changed in the past few years for the Bonnie Hive but for Bonnie enjoyers it has remained the same. Most people who simply enjoy Bonnie still focus on her changing the men and see Bonnie becoming darker even just a smidge is âcharacter ruining.â They say âBonnie would put saving the world above these men thatâs why they like herâ or âunless they change I donât see Bonnie liking a âburn the world down for youâ guy.â As I said earlier, Bonnie fans have had to do work analyzing (and humanizing) Bonnie so we make headcanons and one popular one is how Bonnie suffers from abandonment issues causing her to see her friends (especially Elena) as her true family.
Bonnieâs abandonment issues is why she doesnât leave her friends. Itâs why sheâs loyal to the point of constantly sacrificing herself for them. Her mother left her at three. Her dad wanted nothing to do with her due to her being a witch. Grams agreed to keep Bonnie out of magic/witchcraft until Bonnieâs powers showed up and she couldnât hide it anymore. Her Grams died and now sheâs left with her the only other people she considers family: Her friends. Weâve seen Bonnie distance herself, both for long periods and short periods of time, but it never lasts because she canât let them go. Sheâd be completely alone if she did. She especially canât let Elena go, someone sheâs said multiple times sheâd die for.
Her cousin, Lucy, even tells her to stay in the middle because sheâs needed (and never elaborates because we never see her again). The spirits use her to uphold âthe balance of natureâ even going so far as punishing her and even nearly killing her to do so. Qetisyah, her oldest ancestor, made her the anchor where she was in pain for most of the year she turned 18.
So we see that Bonnie alone canât do it but a strong darker love interest can help her here. Sheâd have someone in her corner that helps her explore the darker parts of herself that sheâs been tucking away. Bonnie said in season 4 that âI belong to myselfâ and yet what was all that power she gained used for? Helping Elena find the cure and bring Jeremy back. A darker love interest can actually show her what âI belong to myselfâ means. Getting away from her friends and actually putting herself first? Not caring what her friends think and not being there for them because theyâve used her constantly? Her finally having someone that would put her first and not pacify/regress her (Bonenzo) or cheat and canât protect her (Beremy).
TVD is a romance show that uses romance to develop characters (although usually poorly done and we all know why) so why should Bonnie not get that? Why shouldnât she have Damon, Klaus, Kai or Nora to help her with this new journey she finds herself on? Characters that wonât try and keep her in a morally pure box and will put her above others. That would encourage her to be selfish with magic and finally have fun with it. That will allow her to hurt those whoâve hurt here (yes including Elena and Caroline lol).
We arenât subconsciously believing Bonnie is incapable of gaining agency and becoming darker because of the racist writing at all. We are actually actively not wanting her to go through this alone and experience love while she finds herself.

The "Block AI Enhancements" toggle was originally introduced in Firefox 148 Nightly in January following significant community backlash afte
The Firefox "AI kill switch" is here.
Go to Settings > AI controls. There, you can toggle the "master kill switch" on to fully block all the features, which means two things:
you won't see them,
you can't even be asked about them.
The default state is, like before, "available". This means the features are NOT on by default (they never were), but Firefox will let you know about them where they exist (e.g. when you create your first tab group) so that you can choose to opt in.
Please note that Firefox for Android or iOS have never included AI features, so you won't see these settings on your smartphones or tablets.
Please also note that, unlike popular belief here on Tumblr, besides "chatbot in sidebar" (which is simply embedding the same page you'd have normally browsed to), none of these features have ever interacted with anything outside your PC, because they download a small model to your computer, to do everything locally. These small models have never been and are not downloaded until you explicitly agree to turn on one of the features.

A faerie introduces himself. Then, holding out a hand, asks, âAnd your name, please?â
And, like a fool, you give it to him.
I got asked for clarification on this (but canât reblog that particular post cuz on mobile), which Iâm more than happy to provide.
In this post, a faerie is asking for âyourâ name. The way he is wording it, however, and the accompanying beckoning motion, makes it seem as though he is asking for you to physically hand your name over. Which, because of how some faeries operate, he is.
In this instance, saying your name aloud to the fae would be literally giving your name over to him, the exact consequences of which are left up to the imaginationâusually, a fae even knowing your name gives it some measure of power over you, but giving something your name would likely let it completely take over your life.
In this instance, the wording you want to use is something like âI will not give you my name, but I will tell you that itâs [name].â Alternately, you can just lie to him.
Might i suggest the less direct yet still name-preserving âyou may call meâŚâ? It dodges the request while still giving an answer of a name, which does not even have to be yours, but any name you feel like telling the fae they can use to refer to you. I would recommend âAinselâ.
The first time he asks for your name is the first time you meet him. He appears as you walk by the fĂŚrie ring, that you have not entered because your grandmother has repeated so many times not to do so, and, curious of your presence, watches as you jump when you notice him.
You recognize him instantly. It is the FĂŚ whose influence your village is under, the one the elders have told you and your friends to be wary about, for the people who have been seen walking away with him have never come back.
You donât know what he does to them. The villagers have never dared to confront him about it, never dare to address to him at all. He is not evil: he sometimes speaks blessings upon the cattle, talks the horses to calm after a storm, ensures a good harvest for the farmers, makes the flower bloom in spring even when the weather is still too cold. He is, simply, a FĂŚ, whose ways humans cannot understand.
