Disgraceful RP chattering
I just noticed that eudaemaniacal's game where everyone dies is body horror which I somehow missed the first time now I'm even more excited because I love terrible things
If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also
MattĀ 5:39
This specifically refers to a hand striking the side of a personās face, tells quite a different story when placed in itās proper historical context. In Jesusās time, striking someone of a lower class ( a servant) with the back of the hand was used to assert authority and dominance.Ā If the persecuted person āturned the other cheek,ā the discipliner was faced with a dilemma. The left hand was used for unclean purposes, so a back-hand strike on the opposite cheek would not be performed.Ā Another alternative would be a slap with the open hand as a challenge or to punch the person, but this was seen as a statement of equality. Thus, by turning the other cheek the persecuted was in effect putting an end to the behavior or if the slapping continued the person would lawfully be deemed equal and have to be released as a servant/slave. Ā Ā

THAT makes a lot more sense, now, thank you.Ā

I can attest to the original posterās comments. A few years back I took an intensive seminar on faith-based progressive activism, and we spent an entire unit discussing how many of Jesusā instructions and stories were performative protests designed to shed light on and ridicule the oppressions of that time period as a way to emphasize the absurdity of the social hierarchy and give people the will and motivation to make changes for a more free and equal society.
For example, the next verse (Matthew 5:40) states āAnd if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.ā In that time period, men traditionally wore a shirt and a coat-like garment as their daily wear. To sue someone for their shirt was to put them in their place - suing was generally only performed to take care of outstanding debts, and to be sued for oneās shirt meant that the person was so destitute the only valuable thing they could repay with was their own clothing. However, many cultures at that time (including Hebrew peoples) had prohibitions bordering on taboo against public nudity, so for a sued man to surrender both his shirt and his coat was to turn the system on its head and symbolically state, in a very public forum, that āI have no money with which to repay this person, but they are so insistent on taking advantage of my poverty that I am leaving this hearing buck-ass naked. His greed is the cause of a shameful public spectacle.ā
All of a sudden an action of power (suing someone for their shirt) becomes a powerful symbol of subversion and mockery, as the suing patron either accepts the coat (and therefore full responsibility as the cause of the other manās shameful display) or desperately chases the protester around trying to return his clothes to him, making a fool of himself in front of his peers and the entire gathered community.
Additionally, the next verse (Matthew 5:41; āIf anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.ā) was a big middle finger to the Romans who had taken over Judea and were not seen as legitimate authority by the majority of the population there. Roman law stated that a centurion on the march could require a Jew (and possibly other civilians as well, although I donāt remember explicitly) to carry his pack at any time and for any reason for one mile along the road (and because of the importance of the Roman highway system in maintaining rule over the expansive empire, the roads tended to be very well ordered and marked), however hecould not require any service beyond the next mile marker. For a Jewish civilian to carry a centurionās pack for an entire second mile was a way to subvert the authority of the occupying forces. If the civilian wouldnāt give the pack back at the end of the first mile, the centurion would either have to forcibly take it back or report the civilian to his commanding officer (both of which would result in discipline being taken against the soldier for breaking Roman law) or wait until the civilian volunteered to return the pack, giving the Judean native implicit power over the occupying Roman and completely subverting the power structure of the Empire. Can you imagine how demoralizing that must have been for the highly ordered Roman armies that patrolled the region?
Jesus was a pacifist, but his teachings were in no way passive. Thereās a reason he was practically considered a terrorist by the reigning powers, and it wasnāt because he healed the sick and fed the hungry.

Every time I take a Myers-Briggs test I get a different result: the lifetime
Also this is like the third test to include Robert E. Lee in the list of famous people in my same category and the other two weren't even Myers Briggs they were some other thing and I'm not sure how this is happening

This video is the definition of hype. Very well edited.
Think about this when you make a negative comment about a girls thick thighs.
Remember that watermelon crushing thigh cartoon recently? Well after just watching an episode of Stan Leeās Superhumanās that shit is real.
Now, to give you an example the force required to crush the average watermelon is around 320 pounds as seen below:
But with using only the power of her god like thighs this is the result:
And this is why Thick thighs are fucking glorious.
thick thighs crush skulls
LIFE. GOAL.
"anime is racially ambiguous" aka "these Asian characters with Asian names and Asian cultural markers made by Asian people donāt look like the hideously caricaturized narrow stereotypes of Asians that Iāve been used to seeing."
Author Scott Lynch responds to a critic of the character Zamira Drakasha, a black woman pirate in his fantasy book Red Seas Under Red Skies, the second novel of the Gentleman Bastard series.
The bolded sections represent quotes from the criticism he received. All the z-snaps are in order.
Your characters are unrealistic stereotpyes of political correctness. Is it really necessary for the sake of popular sensibilities to have in a fantasy what we have in the real world? I read fantasy to get away from politically correct cliches.Ā
God, yes! If thereās one thing fantasy is just crawling with these days itās widowed black middle-aged pirate moms.Ā Real sea pirates could not be controlled by women, they were vicous rapits and murderers and I am sorry to say it was a manās world. It is unrealistic wish fulfilment for you and your readers to have so many female pirates, especially if you want to be politically correct about it! First, I will pretend that your last sentence makes sense because it will save us all time. Second, now youāre pissing me off.Ā You know what? Yeah, Zamira Drakasha, middle-aged pirate mother of two,Ā isĀ a wish-fulfillment fantasy. I realized this as she was evolving on the page, and you know what? I fucking embrace it.Ā WhyĀ shouldnātĀ middle-aged mothers get a wish-fulfillment character, you sad little bigot? Everyone else does. H.L. Mencken once wrote that āEvery normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.ā I canāt think of anyone to whom that applies more than my own mom, and the mothers on my friends list, with the incredible demands on time and spirit they face in their efforts to raise their kids, preserve their families, and save their own identity/sanity into the bargain.Ā Shit yes, Zamira Drakasha, leaping across the gap between burning ships with twin sabers in hand to kick in some fucking heads and sail off into the sunset with her toddlers in her arms and a hold full of plundered goods, is a wish-fulfillment fantasy fromĀ hell.Ā I offer her up on a silver platter with a fucking bow on top; I hope she amuses and delights. In my fictional world, opportunities for butt-kicking do not cease merely because one isnāt a beautiful teenager or a muscle-wrapped font of testosterone. In my fictional universe, the main characters are a fat ugly guy and a skinny forgettable guy, with a supporting cast that includes āSBF, 41, nonsmoker, 2 children, buccaneer of no fixed abode, seeks unescorted merchant for light boarding, heavy plunder.ā You donāt like it? Donāt buy my books. Get your own fictional universe. Your cabbage-water vision of worldbuilding bores me to tears.Ā As for the āmanās worldā thing, religious sentiments and gender prejudices flow differently in this fictional world. Women are regarded as luckier, better sailors than men. Itās regarded as folly for a ship to put to sea without at least one female officer; there are several all-female naval military traditions dating back centuries, and Drakasha comes from one of them. As for claims to ārealism,ā your complaint is of a kind with those from bigoted hand-wringers who whine that women canāt possibly fly combat aircraft, command naval vessels, serve in infantry actions, work as firefighters, police officers, etc. despite the fact that they do all of those thingsā and are, for a certainty, doing them all somewhere at this very minute. Tell me that a fit fortyish woman with 25+ years of experience at sea and several decades of live bladefighting practice under her belt isnāt a threat when she runs across the deck toward you, and Iāll tellĀ youĀ something in returnā youāre gonna die of stab wounds. What youāre really complaining about isnāt the fact that my fiction violates some objective āreality,ā but rather that it impinges upon your sad, dull little conception of how the world works. Iām not beholden to the confirmation of your prejudices; to be perfectly frank, the prospect of confining the female characters in my story to placid, helpless secondary places in the narrative is so goddamn boring that I would rather not write at all. Iām not writing history, Iām writing speculative fiction. Nobodyās going to force you to buy it. Conversely, youāre cracked if you think you can persuade me not to write about what amuses and excites me in deference to your vision, because your vision fucking sucks. I do not expect to change your mind but i hope that you will at least consider that I and others will not be buying your work because of these issues. I have been reading science fiction and fantasy for years and i know that I speak for a great many people. I hope you might stop to think about the sales you will lose because you want to bring your political corectness and foul language into fantasy. if we wanted those things we could go to the movies. Think about this!Ā Thank you for your sentiments. I offer you in exchange this engraved invitation to go piss up a hill, suitable for framing.

Witnesses say they asked Britney why she shaved her head and her response was, āIām tired of plugging things into it. Iām tired of people touching me.ā
i can never not reblog this
T-Pain: āThat was the most beautiful thing in the world. Do you know why she was shaving her head? Because it was so important to other people. She is like, āListen. Donāt touch my hair anymore. Stop touching my hair.ā People were like, āWeāve got to make your hair before you go outside. You canāt leave.ā She went ⦠āNow I donāt have hair. What you going to do?ā

The worldās tallest horse. Jake is an 11-year-old Belgian gelding and he weighs 2600 lbs. He stands 20 hands, 2.75 inches at the shoulder, or 6ā10Ā 3/4ā.
THATāS A BIG HORSE
HOW MANY TROJANS ARE HIDING IN THAT THING
other things of note
Minnie Mouse is maybe one of the universeās most powerful wizards alive
you inexplicably gain the power to summon Chicken Little; this is never really addressed or brought up in any sort of story context from what i remember
Donald Duck nearly succumbs to avarice at the hands of an egg jewel and probably almost becomes a greed elemental or something
Tifa from FF7 bumps into you, asks you if youāve seen Cloud, kicks a wall and then leaves abruptly
Goofy becomes a turtle on multiple, separate occasions
Yuna, Rikku and Paine from FF10-2 are fairies
real quote from Mickey Mouse, wearing a black hoodie: āHey fellas! Did someone mention the Door to Darkness?ā
you, an anime character, and your friends, cartoon characters, enter the hyper-realistic world of Pirates of the CaribbeanĀ
you become a lion. Pete also becomes a lion and turns Scar, from The Lion King, into the in-universe equivalent of a lion Dracula
Pete has a fierce fight with Pete from the past
the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty give you more powerful pants
Winnie the Pooh has no idea who you are
Human brains are incredibly adaptable.
Experiments with virtual reality have found that humans can even learn to function in a four dimensional environment. Our brains are so adaptable, that we get bored with constantly perceiving the same universe. Ā We crave alternate āwhat-ifs,ā where magic is real, or itās hundreds of years in the future.Ā The only requirement is that the rules of the universe have to be consistent. We can readily accept faster-than-light spaceships and magic wands, so long as the limits of those tools are established and their users are consistently constrained by them. When bad writers arbitrarily changes these rules to suit their needs, our perception of theĀ realness of their universe breaks down, and we become disinterested in the story.
Consider:
Weeping Angel rules in āBlinkā
Angels turn to stone when anyone is looking at them, including other angles
The Angelsā touch sends people back in time
Weeping Angel rules in āThe Time of Angelsā
Angels constantly move in plain sight of each-other
Angels outright kill
That which holds the image of an Angel becomes an Angel
Weeping Angel rules in āThe Angels Take Manhattenā
??????
Whatever
Who even gives a fuck anymore?
And all of them were WRITTEN BY MOFFAT. Itās not even like multiple writers were involved fucking up the canon. One man couldnāt keep his own monsters consistent.
