A collage friend recently came to stay with me and reminded me just how much I love Japanese food. So I made miso udon! ...except instead of noodles I used shredded cabbage because I can't handle eating my own body weight in pasta anymore. Ah, the good old days. Since I originally started this tumblr as a food blog/diary/thing I feel no shame in posting my food NONE WHAT SO EVER!

Also, regarding having stupid amounts of fabric in your clothing being a display of wealth, I'd been taught that that was part of why the slash-and-puff technique became such a fad among nobles. Not only did it make you a bigger, more imposing figure, but it also shouted, "I'm so rich I can just cut up this fabric without caring. Also underneath my fabric is MORE FABRIC! Suck it, peasants!"

For those who aren’t aware (which is probably most of my followers) I like to spend time behind real cameras too. I feel like you can’t really master a digital art form without having a good understanding of its original counterpart. so I try to do real life camera work whenever I can, especially on trips. Earlier this year I went on a US road trip with Zachariah Scott and decided to buy a drone and GoPro cam. These are the results. The time lapse stuff didn’t turn out like I wanted but rendering 4k footage takes way too long for me to iterate upon it currently. I might come back to it another time. I’ML ITERALLY CRYING BECAUSE I joined the 4k page celebration for Cullen’s character thread on the bioware forums because that’s how big of a nerd I am and someone tweeted the event to Cullen’s writer Brianne Battye and when she replied SHE SPECIFICALLY COMPLIMENTED MY WIP AND I AM SO HAPPY SENPAI NOTICED ME

I am 1000% more motivated to finish this painting once I finish my finals omfg my week has been made

I am just so touched that she called it pretty even though it’s so messy still and UGHHH CRIE

I just want to thank you for the incredible emotion and nuanced subtleties you conveyed throughout your work. Dragon Age (and Cullen) has been such a huge part of my life the past few weeks and it means so much to me to be acknowledged by those responsible for his beautiful and inspiring existence. I hope you know that we, the fans, appreciate every single moment his glorious face is on the screen. (And not just because he is super handsome. um. *sweats*) Thank you for your kind words and for blessing us all with your talent!

Oh wow, haha, thanks! I was Cullen’s Cinematic Designer in DA:I :) It was a long, hard road but working with Bri (his writer) was a delight as we built his scenes and brought him to life. I had a lot of fun with him and through years of development, his scenes were my “happy place” where I could relax and have fun. It’s wonderful and heartwarming to see other folks like him too! :D

I can’t wait to see more of your artwork!

Thank you so much! I really can’t express in words how much your encouragement means to me. I’ve only ever really had the chance to draw as a hobby on the side to express my love for things visually and I am just so inspired to do better and to learn more. Just… thank you so much.

I was observing scenes with Cullen using the new freecam mod that came out, and I saw things like how Cullen would be subtly placed in different places in the same map so the default camera angle we’d normally see would display him in compositionally pleasing positions and it just really struck me how much time and effort needs to go into things that we, the players, might take for granted. I guess what I want to say is that I can really feel the love you both poured into Cullen in all the aspects of his creation and it’s just been a real treat and honor interacting with him. I’m sure my fellow Cullen fans would say the same. Thank you again ;-;

OH GOD DON'T LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN!! Haha, a flycam like that will break all the things... But I'm glad you can see the smoke and mirrors and not be horrified by all my hacks. Haha.

I started drawing as a hobby when I was in school too! We all have to start somewhere, so keep at it, never stop learning and always pursue what you love.
