Little details like these are why I love the Remake Trilogy. Say what you want. Blah blah plot ghosts. Blah blah "they changed things". That's all fair. But you can't look at it and tell me that it's not a giant love letter to the original. You can feel it. Dude people commenting on bloodymary fics are so nice?? I have 300 something hits on my bloodymary fanfic but I have SIXTEEN WHOLE COMMENTS???? My more popular fics have maybe a 1-3 thousand and they still only have like maybe six comments. Even for my multichapter ones. I've never really had this much support on a fic so it's really cool to see so many. It's super motivating and I literally cannot stop writing more because I'm just so excited for people to like it because people are actually TELLING me they like it. So anyway don't let anyone tell you commenting I weird or awkward for any reason if you comment on my fic I will be elated to write more because it's literally one of the most wonderful feelings in the world to have someone like something you've created. You can't gatekeep LGBT events, for two main reasons:

You can't clearly define who's LGBT. Even someone who could pass as 100% cishet in their everyday life could be LGBT. Someone in an opposite gender relationship could be bisexual. Someone could be questioning their sexuality, even slightly, or maybe they did in the past or will in the future. It also isn't just people who identify as a non-assigned gender or have romantic or sexual attraction to the same gender that are oppressed. Even those who simply deviate from gender roles while still technically being cishet can be oppressed for it.

Requiring LGBT status as a condition for entry to LGBT events requires LGBT people to be out. And being out can be dangerous, so it should never be required.

The only people who shouldn't be welcome are those who are harmful to LGBT people. Examples include people who are openly anti-LGBT, all cops, and Christians who aren't actively trying to take Christianity back from bigots.
