this trend of shitting on peer-reviewed academic studies in favor of tweeting “we already knew this was happening” is so soul-crushing. not to be an elitist cunt, but we have got to open the schools again. people genuinely seem to have forgotten that their personal lived experience isn’t indicative of the larger population, AND IF IT IS…… then you need researchers to support these assertions from a relevant data pool instead of a blog post from 2013 💀

Having a "stupider people have done this" attitude about the things you want to do can open so many doors

Just try your best, get off your phone as much as you can, honor your hurt feelings and also the hurt feelings of others, favor sincerity over nonchalance whenever it’s appropriate to, reach out to people you miss, let go of people when it’s time, operate from a deeply rooted self respect rather than from a lens of what people think, try your best to read the room, sit in the sun on overcast days (with sunscreen on), drink lots of water, pursue everything you want aggressively, accept that your timeline will be different, welcome detours if circumstances call for them, hold both yourself and others accountable, try to move your body as much as you can and you will be okay diva

i think one of the best parts about being a teenager in the early to mid 2010s was that cigarettes were definitely not cool anymore and vapes hadn’t popularized yet so my lungs made it out of my peak impressionable years relatively unscathed

Feels weird to call myself an adult. As a kid they really make you think that there is a hard line between adult and kid and that there’s just such a huge difference between them. And then you become an adult. And you feel the same. There’s so big revelation where you understand life and become a functional adult. You just stay you.

Spent my whole childhood not feeling like a person because of the way I was treated by others. I just assumed that when I became an adult I’d start feeling like a person, like a human. Then I became an adult and that didn’t happen. Turning 18 didn’t fix my problems.
