Went off on my WhatsApp story

So for some reason, specifically at like 1-2AM, I just think for some reason that everything that ever went wrong was my fault and that everyone I know hates me. And I *know* I have no reason to think that because my friends have guaranteed to me that they won’t randomly stop, but that trust just disappears the moment it hits 1AM on certain days/nights, and beyond that, I have a weirdly bipolar ego/ambition to do shit. Like one day I think I’m just the absolute shit, I’m hot and I’ll become a stadium-outselling rock performer who will be hailed as the one who single-handedly revived the genre, and other corny shit like that, and on other days I’m just the most cynical about myself and about my own talents and I’ll think nothing’s worth it if well all be replaced by AI or being famous isn’t worth it because everyone is either working with Diddy or Epstein. Does anyone else get this?

He wasn’t trying to be a good one though. You can’t go around diminishing someone’s talent just because they weren’t adhering to what the public viewed as talent. For the time, Kurt wasn’t the world’s greatest guitarist, nobody is disputing that fact, but to call him bad is just objectively wrong. The thing with his guitar solos is that one, he found the rock music of his time to be corny and too focused on musical skill, and two, his favourite artists were the likes of Pixies, Black Flag and Sonic Youth, artists who are KNOWN for punk and noise rock sensibilities. Kurt obviously had those and modelled so much of his sound after them. But beyond that, he was a good guitarist when he chose to show it. Listen to Aero Zeppelin, Serve The Servants or School. When he wanted to, he could rip a decent solo, the reason he chose not to was because of the music scene at the time. Despite what grunge historians say, there was very much a focus on insane guitar work, listen to any Soundgarden or Alice In Chains song. It’s there. What made Nirvana different was their simplicity. If it didn’t NEED extravagance, then you needn’t add extravagance, which is why Kurt stuck to the hooks and riffs he did. Not to mention, you can be a great guitarist beyond just lead parts. Kurt was an insane rhythm guitarist and wrote some of the best riffs in rock history. Whether it be Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Rape Me or In Bloom. You play it around someone, it’s instantly recognisable.
