Nancy had shot him a betrayed look. Then, hopeful she might be able to dissuade him, at the very least, she had decided to gently poke at his pride.  “Aren’t you a little…old to be going to a high school party?” Rolling his eyes, Steve had let out a soft scoff. “Uh, excuse me. Let me remind you, Munson’s older than me!”  Eddie had collapsed dramatically against Steve, as though he’d taken a blow to the chest. “That, good sir, is clear discrimination!” “Against who?” Steve had demanded, disbelieving.   “Why, the graduationally challenged, of course!” 

A protest had been right on the tip of Nancy’s tongue, but Eddie had then shocked her by being the first one to cave. “What the hell? Count me in, Buckarooni.”  “Hell yeah!” Robin had pumped a fist clumsily over her head.  At Nancy’s stunned look, and Steve’s much more amused raised eyebrow, Eddie had only shrugged. “Hey, I’m a free man, now! Don’t know if you heard, but my name’s been cleared and everything.” Throwing an arm around Steve’s shoulders, the metalhead had given him a gentle shake. “Might as well enjoy it while I can, right?”
